FARM BUREAU BACK OF ORANGE CO FAIR The governing board of the next annual County Fair was endorsed and the entire management of the event will be upon its shoulders by the directors of the Farm Bureau yesterday. The bureau also reinstated R. D. Flaherty an editor of the Bureau News from which he tentatively resigned, owing to the fact that he had been chosen to manage the grain exchange of the southern counties. The exchange, however, is likely to be abandoned as forecast in the Plain Dealer, until next year, because of the probable cut in yield due to light rains. The matter will be decided officially tomorrow at a meeting in Riverside. At a meeting of the Fair board J. A. Smiley was elected chairman, Col. S. H. Finley vice chairman, L. G. Swales treasurer and E. E. Campbell secretary. It was decided to have the same amount of space as last year. Smiley was authorized to name committees. At a meeting on Monday at 2:20 the matter of a manager will be discussed. Earl Campbell already has planted some watermelons which he intends to enter, it is said. As soon as they are sufficiently grown says W. M. Cory, assistant farm adviser, heading to cut his name on them. CARPENTRY SCHOOL OPENED AT NAZARETH ATHENS, Mar. 27.—A dispatch re- CARPENTRY SCHOOL OPENED AT NAZARETH ATHENS, Mar. 27.—A dispatch received from Jerusalem states that Edward W. Blatchford of Chicago was appointed director of the Near East Relief association in Palestine. Blatchford will have charge of all American orphanage work in Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Nazareth, where 1000 Armenian orphans from Anatolia and Bagdad are already established. American orphanages occupy some of the most famous spots in sacred history. One is located in Saint James monastery on Mt. Zion, another in the Convent of the Cross. At Nazareth is a school for carpentry, and cabinet-making for Armenian boys. Located opposite the traditional site of the little carpenter shop where Jesus Christ learned the trade. The Bethlehem orphanage overlooks the Church of Nativity and the fields where the shepherds watched their flocks. READ THIS CAREFULLY We have purchased $1½ acres of the swolest oil sand in Santa Fe Springs. Located on boulevard near the largest wells surrounded by the Colon, Associates, and Standard Oil companies, close to seven new rises. Standard Oil Company has this land leased. If we had enough money to pay for all this property, you or nobody else would have a chance to participate. We have cut $1½ acres into thirty-four interests, giving you deed and title to land; also one thirty-four part of oil on the entire $1½ acres goes with each interest. When you stop and consider this property is surrounded by the largest and foremost oil companies in the world, it certainly isn't a bad place to place a little money. We are not looking for joyriders and we are not giving you any doughnuts or hot dogs. This investment has merit. But if you are interested we will be glad to take you down to inspect the property.
