JAM VUII Tires 228 N. CR Fine Ice 136 N. ANAHIEM'S OLDEST DRUG CONCERN FEATURING MEDICINAL LINES IS HEYING'S PHARMACY, PROFESSIONAL PHARMACISTS AT THE CORNER OF CENTER AND LOS ANGELES STREETS. THIS OLD HOUSE HAD ITS BEGINNING ABOUT THIRTY-FIVE YEARS AGO. No merchant sells more diversely born or more widely travelled merchandise than the pharmacist, and accordingly it is necessary to go into the far corners of the earth to find those things that are used in the prescribing of medicines. Some of the ingredients are found in the jungles of Africa, some come from the wilds of Asia, some from the frozen north, and many others from all sorts of civilized and uncivilized parts of the earth. They are taken from the ground, the air, the trees, the plant life and from animals of the sea and land. They are gathered by hand and to alleviate their ills. It is a noble calling and sometimes it is a trying one, too. The brothers, A. H. and O. W. Heying, came to Anaheim about twenty years ago. Both were boys at the time and within a few years we find them being graduated from the Anaheim High School. To round out their schooling, the older brother graduated from the University of California, while O. W. finished his studies with graduation from the University of Southern California. They very early engaged in the ingredients are found in the jungles of Africa, some come from the wilds of Asia, some from the frozen north, and many others from all sorts of civilized and uncivilized parts of the earth. They are taken from the ground, the air, the trees, the plant life and from animals of the sea and land. They are gathered by humans of all colors and are brought to market under various and rigorous climatic conditions. The business has been going on for centuries and the interest in it never wanes from the point of human curiosity. There is something intensely human about a typical drug store. Into it come all kinds of people: Some light hearted and gay, but many others burdened with the trials of life.. In such surroundings are placed the hopes of the less fortunate and it is the business of the wise pharmacist, to not only take a keen interest in his patrons but to actually do all in his power to justify their hopes graduated from the Anaheim High School. To round out their schooling, the older brother graduated from the University of California, while O. W. finished his studies with graduation from the University of Southern California. They very early engaged in business for themselves and since that time have built up a business that is a credit to the community and to its builders. Here one may obtain the most courteous and efficient of service. Much attention is given to their prescription services and three registered pharmacists are in attendance. Other lines and sundries usually found in the drug store are to be found in this old and reliable house. A fine modern soda fountain completes the ensemble of this very attractive drug store. Their slogan is "It pleases us to please you" and the truth of that statement is to be found in every activity of the place. STROUP-BARNES FURNITURE COMPANY 221-223 EAST CENTER ST.
