Haynes Sport Sedan
Stirs Anaheim Fans
Conservative and rich in appearance, yet made more beautiful and attractive by reason of the supplementing sport equipment which Haynes engineers have designed especially for this Haynes enclosed car the new 1923 Haynes 55 sport sedan unfailingly wins the enthusiastic approbation of those motorists who seek the utmost in appearance, comfort, convenience and durability, says the Hull-Witmer Haynes Co., Northern Orange Co. distributors. All of these requirements are more than met in the new 55 sport sedan with its wide, roomy, heavily-upholstered seats, its interior niceties and appointments, its stannch, rugged 121-inch wheel base chassis, and the dependable Haynes-built 55 motor, which gives the sedan a driving range equal to that of the touring car. And in addition to all of this there is also a superb array of sport equipment designed and selected with no other thought than to afford increased satisfaction to the owner. Six disc wheels and tires, with the two extra mounted, one on each side, at the front, the body-conforming trunk and new design trunk rack at the rear, the searchlight type headlights and exterior cowl lamps, fully nickel-plated, the polished protection bars to the rear of the body and the two nickel-plated bumpers — everything that could be expected is furnished as standard equipment. Completing the picture of car beauty is the lustrous finish of deep maroon for body, wheels and trunk.
Used Car Problem Before Auto Trades
The used car situation will be threshed out finally at a general meeting of the Orange Co. Auto Trade Ass'n., to be held next Friday evening at the Cadillac Garage company's showrooms, Santa Ana. The meeting of the dealers' craft last night at the Elks' Club conflicted with the civic dinner, also at the club, and the attendance was too small to make action effective. An informal discussion took place.
Next week's meeting will open at 7:30 and there will be no supper. The idea that motor cars make ideal Christmas presents, is growing more and more popular. As evidence of this, word comes to Townsand and Medbery, local Hudson dealer, that a Hudson super-six was presented to Arizona's retiring governor. Thos. E. Campbell, by the combined forces of all the employees of the state.
From the time it was decided to USED BUICKS AT UNUSUAL VALUES
The Anaheim Auto Co., has had many visitors this week, looking over its unusual exhibit of used cars. The company is making a special effort to clean up its used cars, owing to the increasing supply of 1923 cars including the new sport models, that is arriving.
Those interested are asked to look over these used cars themselves and compare values with the market in general. Further details of the sale appear elsewhere in this issue.

Assemblymen report 100 amendments to the motor vehicle act. We should worry as long as they don't introduce one prohibiting pedestrians from jumping for the crab.

SUPER-SIX GIFT TO GOVERNOR
rs make growing As evi- o Town- Hudson-six was ing政 by the employees decided to offer a token of friendship to the governor, popular sentiment was in favor of an automobile, but the problem confronting the committee resolved itself into the question, "What make of car is best suited for this purpose?"
A careful check of the records of various makes of cars in Arizona; covering performances in the mountains, deserts and in the roadless wastes of the neglected corners of the state, revealed the fact that Hudson-sons had stood up where other makes had failed. This, then, was their answer.
Governor Campbell was probably the most elated individual in the West when officials of the state government made formal presentation of the car on Christmas morning. He lost no time in trying out his new motor, and pronounces the results highly satisfactory.

Brown Reflector Demand is Growing
"It isn't a reflector, but a road lighter," said a man this week who had purchased a pair of Brown reflectors from the Anaheim Vulcanizing Works. This purchaser bought another pair soon afterward and then brought in a friend to get a pair.
Here at last is a reflector so strong that it overcomes the glare of improperly adjusted lights so that one actually can see as well at night in the midst of a flock of cars as when alone in the dark. The buyer in question declared that he could see into the orchards on either side of the road although the light was cold.
RADIO HELPS TO FIND LOST ONES
"Disappeared from home late this afternoon: James Jacks., fourteen years old, light hair, blue eyes, scar on right cheek, wore cap, sweater, brown suit. Please communicate with Mrs. William Jackson, 23 Chestnut-st., Pittsburgh."
Such messages as this are every day being sent out from the broadcasting stations of our larger cities to be caught by all the radio stations that are "listening in." And because of the spreading of information in this matter, thousands of people are informed of the missing person.

The State Motor Vehicle Department approves of the Brown reflector.
Influence boys and girls to study civil government in the home—to supplement what they learn in the schools. Lead them to be well-informed on governmental affairs in this country, and be thoughtful citizens as they come to adult years. There is a frightful prevalence of political ignorance in this country, despite the high general average of intelligence among the electorate.

Such messages as this are every day being sent out from the broadcasting stations of our larger cities to be caught by all the radio stations that are "listening in." And because of the spreading of information in this matter, thousands of people are informed of the missing person, and in a measure are enlisted in the search. The lost and found use of the radiophone is by no means limited to the tracing of lost persons. From several powerful broadcasting centers lists of stolen automobiles are radiated for hundreds of miles. It might be predicted, with at least a fair degree of fulfillment, that before long each automobile dealer as well as each police headquarters, and each local automobile club will receive daily a complete list of stolen automobiles not only in his own city but in the surrounding territory within a radius of several hundred miles.
"The remarkable thing about it," says A. Bevillard, who reprents Willard Batteries in this city, "is not that it transmits intelligence so rapidly, for news of the character is regularly sent just as quickly either by telephone or telegraph, but that it sends its message everywhere within the radius of the station, so that any one who installs the proper radio receiving set can receive all the information sent out."
