YOU CAN'T START ANY YOUNGER ENTERTAIN ESCORTS AT COMMUNITY CLUB CYPRESS, Jan. 22. (SpL)—The Community Club of Cypress and Hansen will entertain husbands and concerts at the Cypress grammar school tomorrow evening. This will be the first event of the kind in the history of the club during its several years existence where the gentlemen were present and the ladies are planning to give them a royal entertainment. Each member of the club will try to outdo the others in originality of neckties. The ladies will wear a small tie to match, pardners for the evening being secured in this way. Cards as well as other games will be indulged in. Refreshments of ice cream, cake and coffee will be served. Mrs. Steve Luther has charge of the necktie committee. The committee for decorations, entertainment and music is composed of Mendies Chandler, La Rue, Fels and Fuquay. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh LaRue of Cypress attended the play at the Morroco yesterday. A large number from Buena Park Cypress, Artesia and Bellflower were entertained at Artesia dance hall Saturday evening, the host and hostess being Mr. and Mrs. Harold Fortune of Hynes. The old-fashioned quadrilles as well as new dances were enjoyed. Guests which numbered over 100 were seated at tables and were served refreshments of chicken sandwiches, cakes, wafers and coffee. Mrs. Dora Fels spent Friday and Saturday in Los Angeles, attending the play at the Majestic, she was also in the crowd that viewed the body of Wallie Reid. Mrs. Clarence Jones of Los Angeles spent Sunday night with her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Moody, of Cypress. The three Ledford families living at Moody station finally secured electricity after many months endeavor which they plan to enjoy to the utmost for motors and stoves already installed.
