The Home of Gifts (By The Mysterious Cowboy) ANAHEIM NOVELTY AND GIFT SHOP The Home of Gifts (By The Mysterious Cowboy) ANAHEIM NOVELTY AND GIFT SHOP Libbey UNDER STANDS ALL OF THE PUBLICS DESIRES Buying is like marrying, best done at leisure. It's in the little shops that you really enjoy the opportunity to look around. Down in West Center street one warm day, the writer wanting to escape from the hot rays of the sun, went into the Anaheim Novelty and Gift Shop—a pretty little place where tables were shining with gifts.. Some gifts, too—I would like to be presented with one-half of one per cent of what I saw in gifts. People stood around the shop in moods of fascination, and none seemed at all anxious to leave.. After a while we all got so interested in the place that we stayed talking to the pleasant proprietor who conducts the business, occasionally looking out at the weather, occasionally at a piece of bricabrac, but really letting the chaos of our minds slowly crystalize into conclusions. ented with one-half of one per cent of what I saw in gifts. Just to sit and muse in an atmosphere like this is conducive to good buying. All around is so much that is suggestive.. There isn't a great deal of anything, but there is a little of everything you would expect to find in such a place and each reach the highest standard in that particular article. On the shelves of pottery, for instance, there are pieces that have to grow a little familiar you see quite clearly what ought to be done with them. Distinctive and unusual gifts—that is the message we get as we go inside and sense the novelty of the shop. Oriental novelties, pottery, greeting cards, pictures of all kinds, dainty and useful picture frames, art goods of varied assortment, beautiful cut glass, exquisite chinaware, a full line of stationery, the biggest toy department in Orange county, beads, purses—you are fairly taken off your feet by the pretty interest you will find in every little article. Let no one think these ware are on display for the rich alone. That is far from the case—with a little pin money you can go into this charming little store and purchase the most fascinating and useful things, and the mere business of doing it is a grand pleasure. Other handsome things such as floor lamps, vases etc.—so much that we have not space enough to tell it all. Go and see for yourself—it is amusing and instructive to look around the premises. Who is responsible for this collection of the beautiful? Mr. H. J. Efker, and he has been in this business for years. His splendid business house in this city is seven years old. Formerly he engaged in the same line and in the music business in Arizona. He is an artist himself and at one time did the decorating for a big department store in Bakersfield.
