It is always best to use standard size cards or envelopes During the Christmas, Easter and Jewish holiday seasons great quantities of very small envelopes and cards are put into the mails, with the result that all postal work is very much retarded and considerable mail disfigured and torn. These small and irregular shaped envelopes and cards do not run freely through our postmarking machines, but frequently get caught in belts and are mutilated and torn; and many of them are of such odd shapes that they must be held out of the regular mail and postmarked by hand, whilst is a slow and tedious process. De lay is also caused by the fact that small sizes do not fit into letter packages readily and cannot be tied securely.
