SELECT SITE FOR
G. G. CIVIC CENTER
GADEN GROVE, Nov. 29.—(Spl.)
A suitable location for the proposed civic clubhouse which has been the subject of keen interest the last few weeks, is definitely settled when the Women's Civic Club decided the matter by a secret ballot.
Two lots in the Park-ave tract, Gardin Grove's newest subdivision, west of the city, were ordered the civic club at a gift price ago.
It was benign by some members, however that it would be a mistake to have the building situated this far out.
After the ballots had been counted towns discovered that 26 favored the west site, while 18 were in favor of the east location.
Last Friday evening was "Father's Night" at the Y. M. C. A. when the annual reception and program given each year by the local P. T. A., took place.
In the absence of the P.-T. A. present, Mrs. Magill, on account of illness, Miss Dorthea Cavanaugh, eighth grade teacher in the grammar school, presided.
Mrs. W. B. Harper read an interesting paper on the activities of the P.-T. A., since its inception in 1916.
Mr. Garden of Santa Ana, formerly principal of the grammar school here gave an interesting account of his recent trip to Europe.
Several musical numbers by the high school orchestra and a trombone solo by Ben Richie completed the program, after which refreshments of cocoa, coffee and doughnuts was served.

Thre young Californians have much for which to be happy in this glad season of good giving; for they have just caught old cross country automobile discharge from Go U.S. Marine corps.
Leaving Nottingham, Yrs., Oct. 29, that Messrs Arthur Stock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Moore, and Claude Ebbey and Sidney Perry, or Los Angeles, have covered the third inundation of miles in just one month. They arrived this morning in time to get their plates on the table for the big dinner tomorrow. Mr. Ebbey will be a guest in the stock home, but Mr. Perry wont to his home in the city.
The trip was uneventful, although they passed through many places of interest, coming in via the Old National trail. Some bad weather was encountered, mud in Missouri and snow in northern New Mexico, but with all eyes on Orange-coast, Calif., the boys did not tarry on the way and are today "tolling the world" that California is the only worth while spot on the globe.

The word "City" should not be used as a part of the address on a letter or package. It does not take much longer to write out the name of the city, with the State, and it may save annoying delay. Letters which are sealed with a sponge and those upon which the stamps are dampened with a sponge frequently stick together, and if a letter addressed "City" sticks to a letter addressed to another city and should be mistrowned to that other city, it is a matter of chance whether or not it will be delivered; and if it is delivered there is sure to be a delay.
Traveling men sometimes fall into the habit of using the word "City" as a part of the address, forgetful of the fact that when the letter is mailed it will not be in the city in which they reside, and therefore delay, and perhaps non-delivery, is the result. The designation North, South, East or West before the name of the street should always be used, avoid delay, when it is required as a part of the address.
