"Burning Sands" is a silversheet achievement. This has been established without a doubt, when it played to such tremendous crowds at Grauman's, Los Angeles. It is a romantic story of the dessert, with charging Arabs on dashing steed, and everything that goes with the life of the great open places. You'll love it! The cast supporting these two stars is splendid to say the least, and Mr. Melford has brought to the screen one of the most vivid pictures ever seen in any theatre. Middleton, after the gifts had been opened the guests enjoyed dancing and card playing. Refreshments of ice cream, cake, coffee and punch were served. Mrs. Ethel Conway spent the week end with her mother Mrs. G. R. Breckenridge at Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Wilsey and children Ruth and Frank were guests at a Thanksgiving dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Wilsey at Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Parker of Los Angeles visited with Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Shaw on Monday evening. Mrs. H. E. Warren, Mrs. N. D. McDowell, Mrs. John Rodeffer and Mrs. J. W. Bishop were guests at a luncheon in Los Angeles on Monday. In the afternoon they were taken to see Robin Hood at Hollywood. Miss Emily Shaw of San Bernardino is the guest of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Shaw. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Warren and Mrs. E. P. Mann attended the football game at Fullerton on Tuesday. Mrs. Lewis Blatz was called to Pasadena on Sunday by the illness of her mother Mrs. Stevenson. When Mrs. Blatz arrived at Pasadena her mother was unconscious and passed. Placentia with her sister Mrs. (Carrine), who is the proud mother of a 7-pound baby boy, Mr. and Mrs. Carrine and family have just come from Roundup, Montana and are making their future home here. Mrs. R. Meranda and daughter Mona were Anaheim visitors Monday. Later the party motored to Long Beach. Mr. and Mrs. H. Schryer and daughter Olive and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Andrews and son, Lee Jaynes visited old friends in Lakeview, Mr. and Mrs. E. Holland and family. Mrs. R. F. Jones entertained Monday Mrs. Ray Jones and daughter Beverly Maidelle of the West Coast Lease. Mr. Karl Roberts of Huntington Beach visited on this lease Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Schneider with friends motored to Riverside and San Diego Sunday and Monday. Mrs. Elliott is suffering the effect of burning her limb on the gas stove. Many friends of Mr. Post of Anaheim employer of the Santa Fe lease were very sorry to hear of his serious accident which happened Saturday while at his work. Mr. Post is in the Fullerton hospital and has not gained consciousness yet. Mrs. C. H. Williams is staying in Placentia with her sister Mrs. (Cainine, who is the proud mother of a 7-pound baby boy, Mr. and Mrs. Carrine and family have just come from Roundup, Montana and are making their future home here. Mrs. R. Meranda and daughter Mona were Anaheim visitors Monday. Mr. Clayton Robb and Mr. Keitt Ford were duck hunters Sunday morning. But returned home very sad, No ducks. Mr. Dales and Husky Grimes were alro hunters on Monday. Miss Margaret Flynn has returned home after a few days' visit with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Flynn-of Anaheim. Mrs. R. L. Isabelle has as her guest this week her mother, of Pasadena. Mr. and Mrs. Marshel Collins are having their home remodeled. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Tidland are entertaining friends from the East. Mr. Don Cullen who has been suffering the effect of the accident in which he was in is able to walk now. Mr. and Mrs. H. Schryer and daughter Mrs. Jack Andrews and son Lee were Brea and Fullerton visitors Monday. Olinda Basketball team played some high school girls Monday evening, score being 28 to 8. Olinda school favor. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Light spent the week-end with Mr. Light's parents in Los Angeles. Mrs. Ryan spent one day last week with her sister Mrs. Joe Nelson at San Pedro.
