NEVER DREAMED ROY SO GOOD, STATES AD THE Great Ad Santel; light-heavyweight champion of the world, came to the little city of Anaheim to pick up some easy money. He has gone on his way with the short end of the gate receipts, a much surprised man. His own words: "I never thought I never dreamed that Roy could be so good after an eight-year lay off. I put all I had into the match. We should have made it a finish match. I believe Roy was tiring fast, but I never thought that he is as tough as he is." Our rancher wrestler showed a million against the Great Santel. Roy clamped on a couple of toe holds that punished Ad greatly. An arm scissors and arm hold had Ad almost down about the 30 minute period. Roy used a couple of double wrist locks to good advantage and lead the great one around with the face or head lock a couple of times. Ad had Roy in trouble several times, but on points Roy was away in the lead. A training injury to Roy's neck showed up about the 53rd minute period and it hurt Roy so badly that he seemed to slow up very much in the last seven minutes. He was in no serious danger as the hour came to a close. In the first 53 minutes Roy displayed much more speed than did Ad. Roy kept Ad's famous legs far away. Every time Ad would try for a scissors Roy was not there. Roy failed to land his head scissors though he tried for it several times. Santel sustained an injury to his right thumb early in the match that bothered him considerably. Roy has a very stiff and sore neck this morning but he is feeling fine and dandy otherwise. In their dressing rooms after the match, Roy seemed to recuperate so much more rapidly than Santel. Twenty minutes after the finish, Roy was dressed and apparently all over the exhaustion of the terrific contest, while Ad was still slow and fatigued. Watching the effects of the watch wear away one would be led to believe that Mabee would have the most vitality and lasting qualities in a finish match. Any way to our way of thinking Roy eclipsed the great star last night. It was a thrilling contest and had the big crowd on edge all the time. Briscoe and associates are making an extensive drive to acquaint Anaheim home builders with the many outstanding features both in construction and saving of time and money of Pacific Ready-Cut Homes. Three years ago Mr. Brisco became associated with Pacific Ready-Cut Homes, Inc., which is declared to be the largest organizations of homebuilders on the Pacific Coast. Since then more than 150 of these homes have been erected and the last thirty days has added no less than 20 orders. Acting as direct factory representative for the parent organization, Mr. Brisco states that, "It is possible to offer the same prices to the local homebuilders as would be secured from the Los Angeles organization." It is Mr. Brisco's duty, he declares, to superintend the actual erection work and see that every detail is satisfactory to the purchaser. In an interview Mr. Brisco stated, "All will agree that to lower the quality of materials is not economy. The secret of direct economy lies in stopping losses, preventing waste of lumber, devising ways of reducing the amount of carpenter labor and by buying all materials from one dependable source at the lowest price." In a nutshell, the Pacific System enables the homebuilder to secure a home on the basis of known value. In my belief, the Pacific System has revolutionized the handling methods of every piece of material that goes into a home. Some conception of the popularity of the Pacific System may be realized in the fact that more than 18,000 of these homes have been erected to date. This is made possible by the fact that the output of the Pacific Mill is 25. TODAY'S BLUE There is some fact that Yesterday's Results New York, 4; Detroit, J. Washington, 4; St. Louis, 3. In my belief, the Pacific System has revolutionized the handling methods of every piece of material that goes into a home. Some conception of the popularity of the Pacific System may be realized in the fact that more than 18,000 of these homes have been erected to date. This is made possible by the fact that the output of the Pacific Mill is 25 houses per day. This enables the mill to purchase lumber in cargo quantities direct from the forest centers and to buy nails, sash and doors hardware and other necessities directly from the manufacturer. It is obvious that by selling direct to the homebuilder, all middlemen's profits are cut out and the homebuilder secures prices that are in our belief far lower than average. In planning our September drive for business we have secured from the architectural department of the parent organization office, scores of new plans and it will be our policy to make no charge for stock plans. We have made arrangements with the mill to secure immediate delivery on all orders placed and believe we will be able to build homes from two to three weeks sooner than heretofore. Our policy will be to quote prices on any size house erected ready for occupancy. When a stock design is selected from our book of designs it will be possible to show the home-builder the home already erected either in Anaheim or in the vicinity of Los Angeles. For a limited time we will offer a free booklet of the plans to readers of the Plain Dealer, who call at our office. Mrs. Earl Abbey of Santa Ana was the guest yesterday of Mrs. C. A. Mullinix. A.C. The practice so common today of serving the children first and telling them to "go ahead and eat," while pleasant for the children, is laying the foundation for poor manners and selfish, inconsiderate actions on their part later in life.
