Morning Folks:
I have been traveling in high society the last few nights. The Sprouts have the habit of retiring at not later than 9:30 and to suddenly change to from 11:00 to 2:00 for five nights straight is about to get Sargum's goat.
They say sleeping is a habit, but it is a good one. Like all good things it can be overdone... Too much sleep makes a person heavy and dull, too little causes ill temper and grouchiness.
Regular hours is the cure for manyills. Young people often go for weeks without a good night's rest but they are not at their best for so doing.
Many of the lovely people you meet at society functions at night are 'devils' and 'she devils' next morning, which goes to prove that night life is not a success.
Behold the animals. The night prowlers are cats and those to be feared. Those that use the hours of darkness for steep and refreshment greet the morning with high spirits, and are gentle and of the most use to civilization.
Gosh, I am sleepy and all frazed out. Mrs. Sprout; and the Little Sprouts say I am cranky this morning, maybe I am and what's more I feel cranky. Yours, SARGUM SPROUT.

ANAHEIM PACKERS NURSING MARKET
Packing has ceased in most of the local packing houses the past few days, owing to congestion of the eastern and mid west markets with other fruit and cantaloupes. Pickling also has been stopped. Pickling will be resumed today, and shipments will go out as usual tomorrow, though on a reduced scale.
The temporary shut-down is the first in several weeks. It is taken in accordance with a decision early in the year to stretch out shipments of Valencias so as not to permit the market to get bare of fruit.
