NEWS OF FULLERTON MATERIAL SHORTAGE HOLDS UP BUILDING Work on the new wing to the Fullerton high school administration building is progressing slowly. Material seems to be coming in meager quantities, and there are not as many workmen as formerly. However, the work is expected to speed up when the materials arrive. When the new wings are completed, the administration building will be equal to any in So. Cal. for a town of the size, and one to which Fullerton will point with pride. Work on the new hotel still going on at a satisfactory pace, and it is daily assuming a more tangible aspect, giving a hint as to what the completed product will be. Fullerton expects to have the largest small city hotel in So. Cal., and to be no longer embarrassed by having strangers call, and no place to lodge them; for on some occasions the city has been so crowded that the present hotel capacity could not accommodate the visitors. SHIP 3 CARS OF CABBAGE DAILY Three cars of cabbage a day are being shipped by the American Fruit Growers, Inc., of Fullerton, it was announced this morning by W. C. Osborne of the vegetable department. Mr. Osborne stated that one car of cabbage a day is being shipped from Como and two from Buena Park. Mr. Sharp of the citrus department of the same company state that the company is shipping a car and a half of oranges a day. J. J. White, Joe Fargon, and William Shipley were given a hearing yesterday afternoon before Judge French in the Fullerton police court on the charge of disturbing the peace. The case was dismissed. This was erected at the corner of Chapman and Harvard-aves., and was recently moved into by the primary grades. Quite a bunch of graduates are expected. It is stated that the list of graduates cannot be made public until early next week. The Fullerton high school and junior college are also making preparations for the close of the school team next month. The high school graduates were announced yesterday. Some two hundred people enjoyed the operetta "The Stolen Flower Queen" put on by the children of the French in the Fullerton police court grammar school at the little park at the P. E. depot last evening. The affair was under the direction of Mrs. Harold Marsh who trained and coached the children. Hundreds of roses made the place a fairy bower and the pretty costumes helped largely in the effect of the whole. The principal characters were as follows: Flower Queen—Inez Young; Fairy Queen—Jessie Maine; Weed King—Lloyd Hughes; Johnny-Jump-Up—Stanley Paine; First Flower Girl—Ruby Kraus, and Scout Leader—Foster Madison. Mrs. Selover ably presided at the piano. The dances and solos deserve special mention through the parts were all good. The cast included flowers, fairies, hazel flies, snowflakes, Indian boys, autumn leaves, weeds, chrysanthemums, winds, camp fire girls and boy scouts. Each group having special songs and dances. It was boy far the best thing the local grammar school had ever attempted and judging from the remarks of those attending would have done nothing to a much older group of children.
