PARTY THE UP PARTY GIVEN ANAHEIM GIRL BY FRIENDS
EVERAL years ago there appeared in the Pomona papers the notice of the arrival of a babyighter at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Degryse, whom they named Mr. As yesterday was the anniversary of the happy event, hernd in Anaheim planned a celebration on the date, and filling up autos, drove to Long Beach where they enjoyed a delicious birthday dinner in the auditorium last evening.
The piece de resistance was the birthday cake, across the top inscribed, "Lillian, October 7, 1." But a complete dinner in rees composed the menu. After acts and happy wishes for additional birthdays, the merry crowd did the various amusements on the then attended dance at the festive.
The honoree received many very as remembrance of the occasion, among them being a hand-bracelet watch. Composing the wd, were the Misses Muriel Croft, Ilie Scheats, Alice King, of Santa a. Florence Meeker, Edytha Hayood, Clara Helinze and Lillian Degge, of Anaheim; the Messrs. Tom mp and Auby Blakemore, Brea, Alt Scheats, Carl Bayha, Herbert utter and Roy Eastman, of Santa a.
EARLY MORNING CEREMONY
A very pretty wedding was that of a morning when Father Brown, St. Boniface church, performed a ceremony, at 8 o'clock uniting ter La Porte, of Fullerton, and as Almee Lamb of this city, in the bonds of matrimony. The marriage occurred in the church and the dal couple was attended by Miss Ice Lamb, sister of the bride, and Elip Lay, a close friend of the mom. Only a very few friends attended the ceremony.
A wedding dinner was served at the parish堂.
ANAHEIM MEMBERS DELEGATE TO P.-T. A. CONVENE TODAY
THE district meeting of the Parent-Teachers Association held in Santa Ana Congregational church today was one of the record attendance and deepest interest. The opening session was held at 9:30 followed with a complete program as follows:
Invocation, Rev. P. F. Schrock; welcome, Mrs. T. E. Stephenson, present of the city P. T. A.; Response, Laguna representative; Parliamentary drill for new president, Mrs. John Clarkson, district parliamentarian; Open forum; "Practical Suggestions for Programs"; "Recent Legislation Affecting Schools," Mrs. R. P. Mitchell, county superintendent of schools; 12 o'clock, luncheon; 1 p.m., Executive board meeting; 1:30 p.m., Reception for Mrs. Harry E. Ewing, of San Jose, state president of the P. T. A.; Address, "The County Free Library and the P. T. A." Miss Margaret E. Livingston, county librarian; Address, "P. T. A. Efficiency," Mrs. Ewing.
The entire meeting was featured by community singing, led by Mrs. H. M. Sammis. At the noon luncheon the meat dish and coffee were furnished by the city federation, and the usual plan of everyone bringing one prepared dish was followed:

ATTEND FUNERAL SERVICES

LIVE WIRES SPONSOR LECTURE
The Live Wire class of the Christian church, meeting in regular session, went last evening to the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. P. Morgan where they transacted usual business matters, and made plans for the coming season's work. This class is energetically earning funds to use in the contemplated new church. One of the excellent programs to be given soon under the auspices of the class is the illustrated lecture by Frank Dowling on his recent visit to Hawaiian Islands. The lecture will be given in the high school on Friday evening, Oct. 21.
The membership of the class at the meeting were the Messrs and Mesdames J. E. Baker, McKee, Morrison,
Ross Dickenson and Dr. and Mrs.
Carlin and Mrs. Warden and Mrs.
Morgan. They were favored with Hawaiian music on the victrola during serving of refreshments.

SEASON'S FIRST MEETING
The Penochie club has since started their club meetings after a period of rest. The first meeting was held at the Hartfield home with Mr. and Mrs. B. Hartfield as the host and hostess. They had their home prettily decorated with different colored dahlias. High score was awarded to Mrs. Ralph Maas. Mrs. Hartfield served a light luncheon after the game to the members, who were, Messers and Mesdames G. W. Closson, Edgar Hartung, Sidney Prince, Ralph Maas, W. E. Duckworth, Mr. and Mrs. B. Hartfield and the guest, Leo. Hartfield.
SURPRISE FOR FRIEND
Eric Lasch, of Placentia, was tendered one grand surprise last evening when several of his friends gathered at his home to help celebrate his birthday anniversary. Contentedly reading his evening Plain Dealer, he was disturbed by a loud ringing of the bell, and responding was greeted with congratulations.
The young folks played several games, chatted a while then were invited to enjoy luncheon, chief of which was the beautiful big birthday cake all done in fancy ice. The self-invited guests were the Misses Elsle Kraft, Louiss Schmidt, Hulda and Clarissa Bakenhaus, of Garden Grove, and Messrs. John and Herman Kraft, Albert Barnett, the honoree and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Lasch.
FIRST P-T. MEETING OF YEAR
The first regular meeting of the Parent-Teachers' ass'n. will be held in Central school Tuesday, October 11, at 3 o'clock p.m. All teachers are requested to be present to get acquainted with the parents. Everyone interested in Parent-Teachers' meetings are cordially invited.
BANKERETTES NEXT MONDAY
The Bankerettes will hold their meeting on Monday, Oct. 10, at the home of Miss Hazel Rainey.
CARDS AND LUNCHEON
Mrs. J. H. Garnett was the charming hostess to the members of the Monte Carlo Whist club on Thursday afternoon. At the end of the game Mrs. Rex Gibson scored high. The color scheme was carried out in yellow. Later in the afternoon a dainty luncheon was served from the card tables.
The members playing were Mesdames D. Jessurum, J. A. Clayes, M. Manter, Wm. Jackson, D. Singleton, R. Mass, Rex Gibson, Al Heying, W.B. Holland, Grace Adkins, W.E. Alexander and the hostess, Mrs.J.H.Garnett.
RESUME REHEARSALS
After their summer rest, the choir of the St. Boniface church has again started their rehearsals. Mrs.Ray Fisher is the director and Miss Marie Rimpau is organist. Special music is being rehearsed for the confirmation services that will be held Nov. 6.
