STROUP-BARNE FURNITURE COMPANY Where Quality Is Higher than Price Anaheim HIGHLY RECOMMEND SPEAKER TO C. OF C. It is believed that the auditorium of Anaheim union high school will be taxed to its capacity tonight at 8, when George H. Knox will deliver an address to members of the C. of C. and their friends. It's to be a free occasion, and a real treat. For 20 years Mr. Knox has given his life after the training of businessmen into executives and salesmen of the first water. Employers and managers have sat under his leadership and direction. He has gone into the field with salesmen and showed them that he knew what he was talking about, so there is no theory in his doctrines, and he has a happy, interesting way of hitting his points off that gives the audience real enthusiasm and "kick." A rapid, keen thinker, Mr. Knox does his talking within a reasonable space of time, cramming into every minute all the "meat" it can hold. Some idea of his worth is conveyed by the fact that this leader of business brains is warmly recommended by such men as Sir Thomas Lipton. one of the world's largest advertisers; Col. Clowry, until recently president of the Western Union; the late James J. Hill, pioneer railroad builder; and former President Wm. H. Taft. If it's from Witman's it's good! The improvement has been especially marked in textiles and boots and shoes, in which industries New England holds a leading position. Woolen manufacturers are having all the business they can handle and are buying wool freely. Cotton manufacturers are also active. The demand for cotton dress goods, ginghams, percales and organdles is keeping the 22,000 cotton looms and 700,000 cotton spindles of the Amoskeag Co-turning full speed and the 2,300 worsted looms and the 50,000 worsted spindles of the company are also employed. Shoe factories are running at double the production of three months ago and the output is only a trifle more than 20 per cent below full capacity. Conditions are also better in the metal trades, including brass, hardware, typewriters, machine shops and foundaries.
