where Republic has 5 producing wells, another was recently brought in which tested better than 100 barrels daily, and proved between 300 and 400 acres of the Company's holdings. A new rig has just been completed and drilling will commence next week.
ON Lease No. 1, drilling has reached a depth of 1350 feet. This well is 1,500 ft. east of the Standard's producing lease "A," and has so far conformed exactly with every producer in the field in formation encountered.
—Close to Lease No. 2, the Milley & Keck well is about ready to drill through the cement.
—Republic's Lease No. 3 is in direct line between the MILEY & KECK and the STANDARD'S SURF NO. 1, both of which are cemented off.
—Still closer to the SURF WELL, and adjoining the property where VISTA DEL MAR'S well stands very near to completion, is Republic's Lease No. 4, consisting of 28 acres, directly between these two wells.
—Study of showings so far secured by various wells, brings out the excellence of Republic's four leases. With several wells close to completion, results favorable to Republic Petroleum stockholders can be expected soon.

Roberts appeared on the scene, with a little stock of furnishings, new to the business and just recovered from a severe attack of typhoid fever. Last Friday he sold out a modern, well-fitted store, filled with high-class goods, and this week he transfers his affections to the orange grove which he purchased a few months ago, between Placentia and Yorba Linda.
