OLINDA METHODISTS GIVE SURPRISE FOR PASTOR, REV. KENT
OLINDA, April 7.—Special—Friday evening, Rev. Kent of the Olinda M. E. church was given a very pleasant surprise. They went to Santa Ana in the afternoon and when they returned they found the supper table all spread with a splendid supper and plenty of canned fruit on hand. A fine birthday cake was one of the main features of the supper, the day being Rev. Kent's birthday.
Alvin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Schryer of the Santa Fe lease surprised them by returning home Saturday morning instead of Sunday. He has been in France for some time.
Carl Lechler of the naval station at San Pedro spent the week-end at the J. M. Williams home.
Mr. Miranda and daughter Mona of the Santa Fe lease accompanied by Mrs. J. M. Williams and children and Carl Lechler of San Pedro spent Sunday at Mt. Baldy. The snow was so near gone they had to climb very high to find any. The children had never seen snow and they were delighted.
