TRIANGULAR TRACK
AND FIELD EVENTS
LAST OF NEXT WEEK
ANAHEIM HIGH SCHOOL NOTES
Practice has started for the triangular track and field meet which will be played here Friday of next week.
Cadet officers, commission and non-commissioned, will undergo examinations the second period Thursday for appointments to vacancies.
All singles have been played in the round-robin tennis tourney. Doubles and mixed doubles are being paired.

BUYS TRACTOR AT 70
R. W. Cole of Placentia, is 70 years of age but he doesn't consider that he is too old to adopt new methods of ranching. He has relegated the team and is now occupying the driver's seat on a new Avery tractor. He is getting along fine, says Manager Edw. L. Olmstead of the Avery Company of Orange-co.
Mrs. John Walker and daughter, Mrs. Mickey, of White City, Kan., who have been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Taggart, left for home Friday.
The Methodist church choir will hold practice Friday evening.
DEADLY WEapon upon T. O. Barrett, another oil well employe. Barrett said that Dayton held a revolver on him and made him sign an untrue statement concerning his relations with Mrs. Dayton.
RAID S. A. PIGGERS
Two places declared by the Santa Ana police to be blind pigs were raided Friday night. Antonio Morales and Timotes Hernandez, a woman, were arrested.
Morales served a term some time ago. That he has been selling booze has been known for some time, but efforts to catch him failed. He is reported to have followed a policy of keeping very little liquor on hand at home. He told one of his customers that he had 500 gallons buried at a place to which he never went except at night. If there is such a place it has not yet been located.
When the officers raided Morales home they found two bottles with wine in them, and in a hole in the floor, covered with a trunk, they found a lot of empty bottles and jugs. Morales pleaded not guilty and trial was set for March 25.
Mrs. Hernandez was unsuccessfully prosecuted several months ago on a shoplifting charge, and later was refused a restaurant license. When officers went there, the woman came to the door wrapped in a big quilt. Search for liquor was made, but for a time none was discovered. A 12-year-old girl was found in bed. Jernigan was searching the room for booze when it occurred to him that it might be hidden in the bed. The girl refused to move. It was then found that she was tightly hugging a gallon jug of brandy.

PEPPER ACREAGE TO BE BIGGEST EVER
There will be a big acreage planted to peppers this year, according to F. B. Kealher of West Anaheim. Encouraged by the high prices, it is expected that the acreage will exceed all previous plantings. Kealher would not be surprised if the acreage this year exceeded 2000, compared with less than 2500 the last season and 600 two years ago.
The price the last season opened at 17 cents, went up to 33 and is now at 22.
HEARING MARCH 21ST
