ONLY LADY CIRCUS PRESS AGENT SAYS BARNES BEST EVER Miss Emma C. Miller, general press agent for Al G. Barnes Circus, coming March 24, and absolutely the only lady circus press agent in captivity, has made her fourth annual visit to Anaheim. Every time you meet Miss Miller your respect for Barnes as a showman and employer of press agents increases. The circus opened the season at Santa Monica yesterday and will land here Monday. It will be resplendent in new paint, every car and wagon having received from four to seven coats of paint and varnish in the winter lay-off, says Miss Miller. New Wardrobe All members of the circus troupe will have new costumes. They're positively new, too, says Miss Miller, and not made over from the old ones. Last year's best will be used on the rainy days this year. You knew, of course, that circus folks have two wardrobes—one for sunny days and one for rainy days. Despite the war, Miss Miller says Barnes had his biggest season last year, turning them away in all the big cities. At Seattle, for instance, the war tax totalled $3500 for three days, which means admissions aggregated $35,000. "Alice in Jungle Land" The big spectacle this year will be "Alice in Jungle Land," a paraphrase of the childlore story. "Alice in Wonderland." Another big stunt will be forty dancing horses. Barnes will bring the only herd of really educated llamas in this country. It is the only instance known where these animals have submitted to a thorough course of education. The South American llama will bear neither beating or ill-treatment. The respect shown these animals by Poruvian Indians amounts almost to superstitious reverence. When the Indians load them two approach and caress the animal, hiding its head that it may not see the load on its back. It is the same in unloading. BUENA PARK FORMS BIG DANCING CLASS BUENA PARK, Mar. 19.—Special Last Saturday evening at the school hall a dancing class was organized with Mrs. Thompson and Mrs. Irvin of Los Angeles as teachers. 36 pupils were secured the first evening. These teachers will come to the Park every Saturday evening and will begin their work at 7 o'clock and close at 10 p.m. A musician will come with them from Los Angeles that good music may be had for the dancers. Twelve lessons will be given for $5. Anyone wishing one or several lessons can take them at a reasonable rate. Work on Hattle H. Allen's real estate office is going on rapidly and the building will be ready for occupancy in the very near future. Claude Beach and family from Los Angeles visited relatives in the Park Sunday.
