CLUB DINNER WAS SPLENDID SUCCESS YORBA-LINDA, Feb. 24—Special The dinner held in Ley hall Friday noon under the auspices of the Womans Club was a splendid success. A goodly number attended and many were heard to remark on the excellency of the menu. The sum of $18.50 was cleared which will be applied on the club's Liberty Bond. Miss Mary Walton of Los Angeles spent several days this past week as the keeper of Mrs. William Martin. Harold Welch motored to Los Angeles Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Joe Buckmaster and children motored to Orchardale Saturday afternoon, to visit Mrs. I. V. Mills who has been on the sick list. Miss Esther Buckmaster returned with them and spent the week-end at home. The Royal Neighbors dance on Saturday evening was a most successful affair. About a hundred persons attended and the merry whirl lasted until the "wee sma" hours. Everyone reported this the most enjoyable affair of the kind for the season. Miss Muriel Simons delightfully entertained a group of her girl friends at an all-day gathering on Saturday. The young ladies enjoyed outdoor games during the morning and were served with a delicious dinner at noon time. The afternoon was spent hiking over the neighboring hills. Those who enjoyed Miss Muriel's hospitality were: the Misses Shepherd, Logdson, Morris, Stewart and Bohannon. over the week-end. On Sunday the Knights and their guest motored San Bernardino to visit the Orange Show. Mr. Leroy Johnston was a business visitor in Los Angeles on Saturday. Miss Mac Moore of the Academy of the Sacred Heart. Pomona has been spending a few days with herSummer Mrs. Carl Seaman. Miss Elizabeth Calvert is spending her convalescant days with her niece phew and his wife, Mr. and Mr. Plummer Stewart. Dr. Shaw, pastor of the United Presbyterian church is planning to give a stereopticon lecture on China next week which promises to be very interesting. Further announcement concerning the date will be made later. Mrs. A. C. Drake spent the weekend in Yorba Linda. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Walker and family with their house guest, Miss Murray, motored to Pasadena on Sunday to visit friends. The Selover family motored to Whittier on Sunday afternoon to visit relatives. A dancing club is in the prospect of organization which promises to give a dance once a fortnight for the remainder of the season. What has happened to Yorba Linda's patriotic spirit? The lack of our national colors on our public school and in the park was rather noticeable on Washington's birthday. Let us not forget this sign of recognition of our country's patriot on future occasions. Roberts, Jewelers Where Every Dealing Leaves a Friendly F ANAHEIM THE ORANGE COUNTY PLAIN DEALER, ANAHEIM EDUCATIONAL FILMS AT TRACTOR SCHOOL One of the special features of the Gas Tractor Short Course to be given by the University of California at the citrus experiment station Feb. 24 to March 1st, will be the meetings Monday and Thursday evenings, in the Polytechnic High school. Several educational films illustrating the Manufacturing of Tractors and their operation will be shown. Dean Thomas F. Hunt of the College of Agriculture, Berkeley, who spent several months in England and France as a member of the agricultural commission sent by the United States Department Zone, will give the lecture at the meeting Monday evening taking as his subject, "The Problems of Reconstruction and Agricultural Needs of France and England." This will be illustrated by lantern slides picturing the agriculture of these countries and showing some of the devastated areas in France. Lectures By Webber Lectures for the meeting Thursday evening will be given by Dr. H. J. Webber, director Citrus Experiment Station, J. B. Davidson, professor of Agricultural Engineering, University of California, and J. A. Prizer, superintendent of Cultivations, Citrus Experiment Station. The course as arranged will consist of two one hour lectures each day to be given by Professor J. B. Davidson, professor of Agricultural Engineering of the University of Calfor- essity of returning for the noon meal. Registration fee of $1.00 constitutes the only charge for the course. BUILDING AT OLIVE OLIVE, Feb. 24.—Special—Building is again taking on an active aspect, in the Olive district. The recent bond election of the Olive school district which carried by a large majority set the pace and Thursday the trustees met to select an architect. The bond issue calls for a $15,000 expenditure. On the boulevard west of Olive the Orange Contracting & Milling Company is busily engaged constructing a modern six-room house for H. G. Heineman. The building and garage will cost approximately $3800. The Bixby Development Company is just completing a modern and very unique bungalow of a Spanish type in the Peralta Hills tract.
