NOW! Big travel bargain for cities along Santa Fe
It's Chico Bargain Fare time again on the Santa Fe—through April 30, 1965.
For example, a regular round-trip ticket costing $100 will be sold at the off-season bargain fare of $80. Round trips costing $75 now will be only $60, and similar reductions will apply for round-trip tickets from all stations except for local trips within the State of California.
No matter where you travel on Santa Fe trains, round-trip bargain fares will save you approximately 20%. Tickets on sale every day with a return limit of 30 days. Yes, bargain fares apply for both round-trip coach and first-class tickets.
Now you can leave the car at home and save money traveling by Santa Fe.

Smiths Lead Johnsons In Directory Listings
Any doubts that Orange County has become a truly metropolitan area will be dispelled this week with delivery of 360,000 Pacific Telephone directories.
Deliveries are scheduled to run Tuesday through Friday.
For example, each telephone user will get his own instructional page that explains the fastest way to place calls from his telephone prefix. Easy-to-use maps accompany the instructions.
"These pages answer one of the questions most frequently asked our operators," Just what towns can I call without a toll charge?" stated Al Spurway Orange manager.
It was stated that, for the first time, Orange County residents will be served by separately bound alphabetical (white pages) and classified (yellow pages) books. They'll include a total of 2,312 pages, an increase of 200 over last year.
Spurway said information and repair service numbers for Pachange to "411" and "611", respectively. Some 140,000 subscribers to General Telephone service in the county will not be affected by this change.
The information and repair service numbers are being changed by Pacific as a step in ultimately amping these codes uniform throughout the nation and to permit future use of the Fire Danger Remains High
A critical fire condition still persists in Orange County due to the recent dry period. State Forest Ranger Carl Downs said today.
"The recent heat wave and the fact that we've had a negligible amount of rain has not changed our condition. All we can do is wait for the rain and be extremely careful," Downs added.
Downs said that the cooling trend helped the situation but did not solve it. The critical period should extend through the fall and into February.

VP High School Draws Over 700 To Open House
More than 700 Orange residents participated in open house festivities at the new Villa Park High School plant last night, it was reported today by Principal William E. Montonna.
"So enthusiastic was the response that Villa Park staff members expected to hold once-a-month luncheons on campus for small groups of parents," Montonna said. "This will give our staff and teachers an opportunity to get better acquainted with local residents, and will also keep Villa Park High School personnel alerted to activities within the community."
In explaining the luncheon plan, Montonna said that a different group of parents will be invited to meet with various faculty members each time. This will give us an opportunity to feature various high school departments each month; and also enable our faculty to get well acquainted with residents of the Villa Park community, he explained.
