Season Of Anaheim
The Anaheim Memorial Hospital Guild presents its first "Hi-Fever Follies", May 1 and 2 in the Anaheim Union High School Auditorium.
The Follies is considered to be mainly musical variety show. It will have such things as a sketch of "Death of a Safe-cracker" which is a take-off of "Death of a Salesman." Also to be seen is a gigantic circus scene. Bits and pieces consists of sketches such as "I found him in the yellow pages." These will be scattered throughout the show. And, of course, there will be dancing girls!
The Follies will be costumed and directed by the Jerome Cargill Production Company of New York. Mr. Bob Gregory, director, was guest of honor at the talent kick-off party held in the Anaheim Elks Club on April 14.
The party, complete with a floorshow of its own, gave Mr. Gregory an opportunity to meet prospective talent for the Follies; and, in turn, gave prospective talent a chance to meet and discuss the Follies with him.
Mr. Gregory has been with the Jerome Cargill Company for the past 10 years. Behind him he has had appearances in the Schlitz Playhouse, Playhouse 90, Studio One, Verdict is Yours, and Day in Court. At 14, he appeared in the road company of "Kiss and Tell." He also played Tom Lee in the west coast company of "Tea and Sympathy." Aside from these activities, summer stock and civic theatre have kept him quite busy. Mr. Gregory will be conducting rehearsals in the Ebell Clubhouse, 244 N. Helena Anaheim. Even this early in rehearsals, he has put together what seems to be a hit.
Tickets for the Hi-Fever Follies will be made available through Mrs. Austin Fordyce by calling 537-8743. Between April 27 and April 30 tickets will also be available at the Anaheim Memorial Hospital Gift Shop between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Adult tickets are $2.50, children are $1.50. All seats reserved. If you miss these times, tickets will also be available at the door.
The Anaheim Memorial Hospital Guild was formed six years ago to render service to the community by furthering the best interests of the Anaheim Memorial Hospital and assisting in the promotion of its activities. The work of the volunteer is to supplement, but not to take the place of the professional and technical worker. Their chief concern is the patient in the hospital.
In carrying on their duties as Anaheim Memorial Hospital the members of the Guild have seen the need for the expansion of their hospital. Therefore they have taken on the production of Hi-Fever Follies" as their money making project for the year. The proceeds from this project will be their contribution to the expansion of Anaheim Memorial Hospital in the near future.
In the past years the Guild has had one fund raising project each year. They have sponsored plays, the Anaheim Chor-

The past years the Guild
one fund raising projyear. They have spondays, the Anaheim Chor-

a dinner dance. With the montes from these projects they
have been able to add equipment and various needs to the
hospital.
Past projects include funds
for the expansion of the OB department, outside viewing window
for the nursery, an intercom for the nursery, an Armstrong non-combustible incubator for the delivery room, and a servo-controlled isolette.
Other contributions have been
curtains for the emergency
room, two wheelchairs with orthopedic controls, patio furniture,
a high chair, bottle warmer for pediatrics, and pants
hangers for the closets.
Two community scholarships
have been awarded each year.
The Guild has refurbished and
redecorated the lobby and added a gift shop. An electronic cardioscope and an Aquamatic
K-Thermia Unit have also been purchased.
Many other services and time
have been contributed by the
ladies in green, the members of
the Anaheim Memorial Hospital
Guild. Participation in comunity responsibility is the obliqigation and privilege of every citizen. When a woman volunteers to work in a hospital, she is participating in one of the most vital services of her community. Her consciousness of duty well done is her only reward, but she comes to know there are few greater satisfactions.
These ladies in green are now calling upon all of you as citizens of their community to support their production of the Hi-Fever Follies. This production will be entertaining and exciting, produced by the Jeroms Cargill Productions of New York and cast with local talent.
