LOIS REBEKAH
Deputy Visits Local Lodge
The officers and members of Lois Rebekah Lodge No. 268 met Friday evening in the Odd Fellows Temple, West Lincoln Avenue, with the Noble Grand, Adeline Provino, presiding over the business session.
Mrs. Elizabeth B. Price, district deputy president of district No. 50, made her official visit to the lodge. She was escorted into the temple by Mrs. Charlotte Taylor, deputy marshall, and 16 escorts. Mrs. Price was extended the honors of the degree and seated at the right of the Noble Grand.
Others escorted were Hazel Ryan, grand treasurer of grand ladies encampment auxiliary; Helen Zincke, junior past president of department association ladies auxiliary patriarch militant; and Henry A. Mang, past grand patriarch of the grand encampment. This being courtesy night, each officer introduced her courtesy guest from the district.
Out of state visitors who were introduced and welcomed by the Noble Grand were Louise Butter past noble grand from the jurisdiction of Wisconsin and Alberta D. Pease, past noble grand from the jurisdiction of Massachusetts.
Georgiana Snell was elected to membership by transfer.
A delegation of Rebekah attending with the delegate the Theta Rho Assembly is being held in Fresno week, Barbara Myers, a of the Anaheim Theta Rho ported.
Opal Meeker, president of Lois Thimble Club, announced that "Luncheon Is Served" be held in the banquet room the Odd Fellows Temple day, March 31 at 12 noon is open to the public.
Mrs. Price and Mrs. were presented with coto which was attached a tary gift.

During the business session delegates were elected to the Rebekah Assembly to be held May 17th through May 22 in Keramanto which will be pre-ded over by Vivian Vennara, president of the Rebekah Mercamento which will be pre-assembly. Those elected were: Susan Benbrook, Vivian Waite, Barbara A. Myers, Lizzie Night, Hazel Hawley and Mararet Myers.
A delegation of Rebekahs are attending with the delegates to the Theta Rho Assembly which being held in Fresno this week, Barbara Myers, advisor to the Anaheim Theta Rho, reported.
Opal Meeker, president of the Thimble Club, announced that "Luncheon Is Served" will hold in the banquet room of the Odd Fellows Temple, Tuesday, March 31 at 12 noon, and open to the public.
Mrs. Price and Mrs. Taylor were presented with corsages which was attached a moniary gift.
"The SNOW QUEEN" — Hans Christian Andersen's exciting fairy tale will come to life as a ballet in the fourth production of the Anaheim Children's Theatre fifth season (Act V). The production, created and staged by Naomi Nichols of Fullerton, features a cast of more than one hundred. Performances in the Fremont Junior High School auditorium will be April 11 at 10:00 A.M. and 1:30 P.M. Above, Diana Hancock as the Snow Queen, Janine Comstock as Gerda, and Joanna Nichols as Kay, rehearse the memorable discovery scene. The series is sponsored by the Anaheim Park and Recreation Dept.

District Deputy, Mrs. Hainley of St. Pius Lakewood, will be honored dinner in the Odd Hall, Monday, April 6 p.m., when she makes a formal visit to Our Lady Rosary Institute.

Ladies Receive Shorthand Speed Award
Mrs. Virginia Black and Miss Pamela Einfeldt were presented recently with national recognition awards for proficiency in machine shorthand by the Stenotype Company of California.
Mrs. Black was recognized for attaining a speed of 160 words per minute in 135 nights at the firm's Los Angeles school and was presented with a pin in the shape of a miniature shorthand machine in honor of the event. Miss Einfeldt attained 120 words per minute.
Mrs. Black resides at 300 W. Katella Ave., while Miss Einfeldt makes her home at 915 Iroquois St.
The Veterans Administration has disbursed 237,563 direct loans to veterans in areas where ordinary lending facilities are not available.
Architectural League Plans Years Projects
The Women’s Architectural League of Orange County held their regular monthly meeting at La Paz Restaurant, Town and Country, Orange.
At a board meeting preceding the luncheon, officers and chairmen presented plans for the coming year and discussed the following projects: annual cocktail party for newly-licensed architects to be held on June 6 under the direction of Mrs. Gared Smith and Mrs. Walter Richardson; eighth Annual Home Tour to be presented on September 26 with Mrs. Ralph Allen and Mrs. Kermit Dorius as chairmen; and the Second Annual High School Design and Drawing Competition with details under the chairmanship of Mrs. Gates Burrows and Mrs. Everett Parks.
Mrs. Parks announced that models entered by the high school students in the competition will be on display at the Southern Counties Gas Company offices on Center Street in Anaheim during Public Schools Week, April 20 to 24.
Miss Dorian Hunter of Dorian Hunter Interiors, Fullerton, presented the program after the lovely luncheon. She was able to present a wealth of material from her extensive background consisting of a Master of Arts degree in Fine Arts from Mills College, as well as graduate work at the University of Southern California. Mrs. Richard Tom, vice president and program chairman, announced that the jewelry instructor from Orange Coast College will be the featured speaker at the next meeting on Thursday, April 16, at 11:30 a.m. at Reuben’s Restaurant in Newport Beach. Mrs. Norman Cates, membership chairman, presented four new members being welcomed into the organization: the Mmes. Jack Basler, Don Corbin, Arthur Schiller and Dell Williams. All wives of registered architects of Orange County, as well as wives of architectural draftsmen, are eligible for membership and invited to attend.
Although 136,000 veterans died during calendar year 1963 there remained 22,092,000 living veterans at the beginning of 1964, the Veterans Administration disclosed.

District Deputy, Mrs. Kathryn Hainley of St. Pius Institute, Lakewood, will be honored at a dinner in the Odd Fellows' Hall, Monday, April 6 at 6:30 p.m., when she makes her official visit to Our Lady of the Rosary Institute.
Mistress of ceremonies will be Miss Mary Jean Lambert.
Reservations for the dinner are to be made with Mrs. Floyd Raberding, KE 5-0784.
Names of new candidates, who will be initiated following the dinner, are to be submitted to the Mmes. Floyd Raberding, Russel Anthony or David Prichard.
The Easter Bonnet raffle was held following the last regular meeting, and Mrs. Louis Fechler was the lucky winner.
Mrs. Eugene Renk, President, presided over the business session and reminded the members that the annual Fashion Show is scheduled for May 6th in the Garden Room at Knott's Berry Farm with Miss Lambert as general chairman. The public is invited.
Proceeds will be donated to the Orange County Society for Crippled Children and Adults.
Announcement was made that the annual Grand Convention will be held on June 13 to 17
Officers for 1964-65 were elected at the Palm Lane Parent Teacher Association meeting held recently in the Multi-purpose Room of the Anaheim Public Library.
Those elected were the Mmes. Robert Cohen, president; Richard Bishop, first vice-president; Kenneth Gates, second vice-president; Raymond Mitten, recording secretary; Paul Jockinsen, corresponding secretary; Samuel Sontag, historian; Robert Johnson, treasurer; and Archie Freitas, auditor.
Also elected were delegates to the CCPT convention, May 6, 7, and 8 in Sacramento. The delegates are the Mmes. Robert Cohen and Kenneth Gates. Alternates elected are the Mmes. Murray Sturmer and Craige Hirst.
Purchase of eight series tickets to the Anaheim Community Concert Association for use by sixth grade Palm Lane students, was approved by the association. The tickets are rotated among the students to give many an opportunity to attend.
Enthusiastic approval was given for the mimeographed copies of the minutes of the last meeting, which were distributed, eliminating the often lengthy reading of same. It is planned to continue this new addition to the meetings.
A complete tour of the library facilities preceded by a talk by Miss Phyllis Irshay, assistant library director, followed the business meeting.
At a recent meeting of the Savanna High School Parent Teachers Association, Mrs. Muriel Altman was presented the honorary life membership from the California Congress of Parent-Teachers.
Mrs. Altman has been active in PTA as a kindergarten mother holding chairmanships as room mother and ways and means. She also was active in Brownies, Girl Scouts, and has assisted the Forever Y's, Tri-Hi-Y group at Savanna Hi.
She has been a worker for the Heart Fund, March of Dimes, Cerebral Palsy, and United Fund. This is her third year as a member of the Savanna Booster Club. In 1963 she was purchaser for the AUHSD All-Night Grad Party and is currently overall chairman.
