The Anaheim Gazette—7 Thursday, February 12, 1964 ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA Eddie Fisher Makes Date at Melodyland Just before he left for Innsbruck and the Winter Olympic tryouts, Eddie Fisher signed with his good friends Sammy Lewis and Danny Dare, for a week's engagement, April 7-12, at their Melodyland Theatre in Anaheim. The singing star will bring in his own complete show, including a 30-piece orchestra. His Melodyland Theatre's playdate will mark the first time he will have played theatre-in-the-round on the West Coast, and will be his first personal appearance in Orange County. Melodyland Theatre has proven a bonanza to producers Lewis and Dare, who took a multi-million dollar gamble when they decided to open a theatre-in-the-round in Orange County. The 3200-seat, circular-shaped house, located directly opposite Disneyland, opened July 2, 1936 and has grossed in excess of $2 million up to the first of the year. The embellishments of the person are poor substitutes for the charms of being, shining resplendent and eternal over age and decay. —Mary Baker Eddy FREE HAIRCUT The following list of community organizations, compiled annually by the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce, is presented to its readers by The Gazette through the courtesy of the chamber as a public service. In all cases the person whose name is given with the organization was the responsible executive officer, usually the president, when the chamber compiled its list. The Gazette would appreciate a note at its office — 421 E. Cerritos St. — to correct any changes made since the list was compiled or add any organizations which desire to be listed.
