ARMY PVT. PAUL R. OWNBY, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul L. Ownby, 2116 W. Grayson, was awarded the expert tank weapons badge in early December in Korea.
The badge is awarded to tank crewmen who demonstrate marked proficiency in firing all tank armament and in maneuvering the tank.
Ownby, a tank gunner in Company C of the 73d Armor's 1st Battalion, entered the Army in April 1963, completed basic training at Fort Ord, Calif., and arrived overseas last September.
The 18-year-old soldier is a 1963 graduate of Savanna High School.
