FILTRATION PLANT OPENS IN COUNTY
Metropolitan Water District's $16.5 million Robert B. Diemer filtration plant plant opened officially Wednesday with public ceremonies in the hills north of Yorba Linda.
One of the largest of its kind in America, the plant will contain an initial capacity of 200 million gallons a day. There are provisions for enlargement to 400 million gallons a day.
Colorado River water from MWD's 79-inch lower feeder will supply the plant, and it is in a position to send filtered water to a point near University of California, Irvine, on facilities now under construction.

In later discussion of the economic aspects of the matter, he added that despite claims to the contrary, it is not an economic necessity to build as high as the Sheraton plan.
Tevlin, too, cited fears for the continued prosperity of Disney-land in his statement of opposition to the hotel project.
Citing the complicated nature of the question before them, the councilmen agreed that it would be impossible to make a snap decision, and so delayed final action for two weeks.
Anemia's Threat Increases
AND DON'T IGNORE IT
that celebrated tired - and down feeling, contrary to usual legend, is seldom the result of an overworked body or strained nerves. Even so, the seldom, the Orange Countyerculosis and Health Association reports, can it be thrown with a fast bottle of "health" or a feast of vitamin and stringy — may very well be showing the effects of a fad diet that depleted her body's supply of iron.
But anemia can mean much more than a simple lack of iron. It is basically a deficiency of life - supporting red cells and of the oxygen-bearing red pigment of those cells called hemoglobin.
Anemia may be caused by poor diet in the adult female; in the adult male it practically always indicates blood loss, blood destruction, or an underlying disease such as that of the kidney, the liver, or the thyroid. Possibly an infection, or even cancer.
The reason is simple. That being may be a sign not of normal weariness or boredom, or a quite specific disorder known as anemia.
Some doctors consider anemia body's most common danger next to fever and the most understood and neglected as Untreated anemia can be serious threat to health.
According to the Christmas organization, more people this disorder than is generally realized. At least 20 per cent of all patients admitted general hospitals are anemic. Are nearly one third of singly healthy babies, and 70 per cent of expectant mothers.

After a dinner at Knott's Berry Farm, they will spend the evening at Disneyland. The next morning the Nevadans will divide into small groups for visits to various centers in Los Angeles and Orange County.
