Gigantic Thanksgiving Assembly At Ensenada Planned by Scouts
A gigantic assembly of Northern Orange County Council, Boy Scouts of America will headquarter in Ensenada, Baja Calif. for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend starting Nov. 29 and ending Dec. 1.
This is the fourth year the camporee has been held under the guidance of Council President William F. James and Scout Executive William W. Bent. Both men are from Anaheim.
Mexican government and city officials have again opened the doors of the city to welcome a contingent of approximately 5,000 Boy Scouts and some 3,000 parents, families and friends who will bring the spirit of our American way of life into Ensenada.
Mexican Boy Scouts will share the encampment.
Five Camps
The huge camporee will be laid out in five district camps: Anaheim District East, Anaheim District West, Los Ranchos District, Walter Knott District and Valencia District. A windshield sticker for automobiles will be color-coded and carry the camp name to simplify parking. All troops and posts will camp in the five complex areas.
Families of Scouts attending the south-of-the-border camporee must make their own motel, hotel, tenting or trailer park accommodations. Information concerning Ensenada’s accommodations may be secured through Boy Scouts of Ameri-
the International Camporee. No Boy Scout may purchase fireworks while attending the Camporee.
Any violation of this rule by the Boy Scout will require the troop to leave the Camporee. This rule will be strictly enforced for all troops benefit.
List Events
An outstanding program of competitive activities has been arranged for all patrols attending the Thanksgiving weekend camporee. There will be a total of 10 Scouting Skill Events, which will be participated in by each Mexico-United States patrol. There will be one patrol winner in each of the 10 skills per district with competition in the finals in the skills done on a camporee-wide basis. The awards will be based not only on Scout skills events but on campsite judging, Sscout spirit and marching ability in the Thanksgiving parade composed of Mexican and American troops, bands, Charro horseback riders and officials from both countries.
The parade will be held on Saturday and will extend over approximately two miles, forming at the statue of Juarez, parading through Ensenada and concluding at approximately noon at the park. All American flags will be massed at the head of the parade.
Visitors Welcome
Fees for individual Scout and leader is $1. These fees are used to offset the cost of arrangements of the camporee. A distinctive patch will be given each Scout and Scouter attending.
Boy Scouts may not leave the camporee grounds. Visitors are welcome during the campfires and religious services.
Checkout time, the breaking up of camp will be at 12 noon Sunday, Dec. 1. with special colors and awards presentations made at 11 a.m. prior to leaving Ensenada.
Accountants Set Meeting
Budgeting, Forecasting and Profit Planning will be the theme of two panel discussions at the next technical session of the Orange County Chapter, National Association of Accountants Nov. 11 at the Disneyland Hotel.
The first panel begins at 4:30 and will be on "Profit planning — Needs and requirements." At 7:30 "Profit Planning Techniques" will be the subject. A dinner highlights the evening between panels.
Families of Scouts attending the south-of-the-border camporee must make their own motel, hotel, tenting or trailer park accommodations. Information concerning Ensenada's accommodations may be secured through Boy Scouts of America, Northern Orange County Council, 1006 W. La Palma Ave., Anaheim, or by telephoning PR 4-3713.

All troops and post units must register, using the official application. Space is provided for information on automobiles for insurance coverage.
It is necessary, before traveling in Mexico, to obtain public liability and property damage coverage from the Council's approved Mexican insurance company. If, there is further information required concerning the insurance, check first with the Scout headquarters.
Insurance Cost
The cost of this insurance coverage, for the entire comporee period, including travel, will be $3.24 per automobile, plus $1.25 per trailer. A windshield sticker, denoting insurance coverage, will be issued at time of registration. If collision and medical coverages are desired, an additional form may be obtained from Scout headquarters, outlining additional fees.
