"Threat" "I am convinced that a definite threat to our form of government exists when elected representatives of the people will accept support of an organization whose founder, Robert Welch, has stated that 'Democracy is a perennial fraud.' Waynn declared. "It is even more difficult to conceive of Republican legislators allowing their testimonials to be sponsored by Birch officials who accept the Welch doctrine that 'President Dwight Eisenhower is a conscious agent of the Communist conspiracy.'" "It would be much more understandable if their dinner were sponsored by the White Citizens Council or the States Rights Party; because the major legislative action for which these three Assembly men became known during the last session of the Legislature was their vote against the ratification of the anti-poll tax amendment." "This troo was twice recorded during the '63 session as the continuation of the which has so long depressed of their voting right Southern stafes." Wynant.
