St. Jude’s Guild Opens Fall Season
St. Jude Hospital Guild members will start their fall season with the annual Christmas card coffees. Mrs. Joseph Neuland, chairman of the card sales, announced there will be two coffees each day in October except Saturdays and Sundays. Area hostesses are being selected and their names will be announced later. Profits on sales are a donation to the hospital.
Sister Jane Frances, hospital administrator, addressed the group and introduced Sister Laurentia, who is the newly appointed Superior of the St. Jude Convent.
New Members
Provisional chairman Mrs. Frank J. Mullen explained that to serve the hospital more efficiently, nine additional new members were accepted during the summer months.
The new provisionals are: Mrs. Thomas Baroldi and Miss Irma Baroldi of Cypress, Mrs. LaVerne Page of Yorba Linda, Mrs. Julio Sierra of Stanton, and Mmes. Jack Giemont, Walter Huffell, William Mills, Russell Penniman and Chester Sowinski of Fullerton.
Records
Mrs. John F. Gardner, volunteer co-ordinator, stated that Mrs. Angelo Ferraris, immediate past-president of the Guild, is still setting records in number of service hours. Mrs. Ferraris was awarded her 6000 hour pin. Mrs. V. G. Ryland received a 2000 hour pin.
Mmes. Gilbert Guth, E. L. Tagge, Earl V. Tavan, and E. L. Van Cleave received 1000 hour pins and 500 hour pins were Guild will be held in the staff room of the hospital at 10 a.m. on Oct. 14.

Pot Luck
Plans are almost complete for the annual Pot-Luck supper to be sponsored by the Benjamin Franklin P.T.A. on th evening of Sept. 26th at the school.
Commencing at six o’clock, the event is expected to attract upwards of five-hundred people, according to the organization’s president, Mrs. James Richards.
Families wishing to contribute to the buffet-style meal may bring a covered hot dish, salad, or dessert. “Contributions will be greatly appreciated,” added Mrs. Richards. The P.T.A. will provide hot coffee, punch, and rolls to round out the menu. Individuals are reminded to bring table service, as none will be provided for diners.

Alpha Delta Plans Two Meetings
Luncheon in the Marine Room of the Newporter Inn on Thursday, Sept. 26 will herald the Fall season for Alpha Delta Pi Alumnae of Orange County.
Members will be entertained by a comedy film on "Women Stock Investors", starring Janet Leigh, Eddie Bracken, and Jim Backus. The Film will be presented by Mr. Roger Smith of Hornblower and Weeks, located in Union Square, Santa Ana. The film will be followed by a brief question and answer period.
Plans for the Annual Benefit Bridge Luncheon, to be held at the Red Hill Tennis Club in Tustin on October 24th, will also be discussed and committee chairmen will give reports on progress for the Benefit.
A most enjoyable agenda has been planned for the 1963-64 season by the program chairman Mrs. Leland Coontz of Orange, and it is hoped that all Alpha Delta Pi Alumnae in the Orange County Area will participate.
If any member is not contacted personally and wishes to attend this opening luncheon, please call Mrs. Coontz at KE 8-4605 in order to make reservations.

Expect Crowd
Capacity attendance is expected for the first meeting of the new school year when the Clara Barton P.T.A. is called to order on Tuesday evening, Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m.
According to Mrs. Gretchen Berdlman, program arranger and second grade teacher at the school, the agenda planned for the evening promises to be one of the most enjoyable and informative of the season.
TV Demonstration
Following the introduction of new and returning teachers and current board members to the assembled group, Mrs. Jeanne Rose, representing I.T.V. (Instructional Television), and Mrs. Virginia Kidder of the Anaheim Elementary Schools Music Department will present a demonstration of closed-circuit television as used in the Anaheim District music classes. To be viewed is a regular classroom lesson as seen by students during the school year.
Closed Circuit
A portion of the televised program will originate in the audiovisual rooms of the school, while the remainder will come over closed circuit from the I.T.V. studios in Downtown Anaheim.
Concluding the demonstration will be an audience-participation feature conducted by Mrs. Rose and Mrs. Kidder.
A general get-acquainted period with refreshments being served will complete the evening's activities.
Welcome Back
Dons To Begin Ticket Selling
Season tickets for the Santa Ana College football home games will be available to the public on Oct. 4.
"We have the new seating chart, tickets have been assigned, and all that remain is the actual printing," explains SAC business manager Lloyd Hamilton.
Two local clothing stores have been appointed as ticket agencies for the season. They are Hill's Clothiers and Vandermast's, both in downtown Santa Ana.
Four home games have been scheduled for the new stadium. The opener will be against Mt. San Antonio on Oct. 12. Other home games scheduled will be Riverside on Oct. 19, Fullerton, Nov. 9, and Southwestern on Nov. 16.
All season tickets will be on sale for $6.00. Reserved seats for individual games will be $1.50; general admission $1 and children 60 cents.
Welcome Back
The Clara Barton PTA Executive Board served a "Welcome Back" buffet luncheon to the teachers, office staff and principal Mrs. Grace Heisterberg, in the Teachers' Lounge. Instructors new to Clara Barton this year are George Schmidt, 5th grade; Ernie Huenemeyer, 6th grade; John Fuentes, 5th grade resource.
Kindergartners and their mothers became acquainted with the school environment at a PTA sponsored "Get Acquainted Tea." Following room visits with Mrs. Barbara Gracely, Room 1, and Mrs. Josette Asta, Room 4, where Principal Mrs. Grace Heisterberg welcomed the new students, Hospitality Chairman Mrs. Thomas Greenwald and her committee Mmes. Joseph Locasto, P. W. Parsley, and Richard Stiles served coffee, punch and cookies.
Music
"Join Us in Music," featuring Mrs. Virginia Kidder and Miss Jeanne Rose. Anaheim School System Music Consultants, is the opening PTA meeting Tuesday, Sept. 24, 7:30 p.m. in the Clara Barton Resource Room.
