by comparison of genuine and counterfeit bills — we noted in a previous column — the difference is usually recognizable in the portrait, seal, serial numbers and paper.
The genuine is a work of art. The counterfeit cannot pass the test of scrutiny. At a glance, counterfeit coins like bills only seem to be genuine. Here is the difference:
Ring the coins on a hard surface. The genuine sounds clear and bell-like. The counterfeit sounds dull. Also, most counterfeits feel slippery, greasy.
Check the reeding (corrugated outer edge). Ridges on the genuine goin are distinct and evenly spaced. On the counterfeit, they are poorly spaced and irregular.
Cut the edge of a suspected coin. The counterfeit is made of a soft metal which can be nicked easily with a knife.
When you place your trust and treasured money in the Anaheim office of First Federal Savings of Alhambra, there is this big difference — you know an experienced, highly reputable and dependable firm protects your money and pays you a steady, generous return on your savings. Our Anaheim office is located at 529 S. State College Blvd. Head office: Garfield and Bay State Streets, Alhambra. — Adv.
The day may come when you'll want to sell your home. That's when you'll find yourself selling your community in an effort to get the best price for your home.
This is an interesting experience because you suddenly realize that you have been blind to the gradual changes that have taken place through the years. These changes may or may not be for the better. And they can make the difference of several thousand dollars cash in your pocket!
If the area around your home is improving, it's probably being accomplished

when you'll want to when you'll find community in an place for your home. Long experience be-ize that you have individual changes that with money raised through sale of municipal bonds—bonds for better fire-fighting equipment, schools, city government buildings, water and sewage facilities, parks and streets, etc.
Good thing about municipal bonds is they protect you in two important ways: Bonds spread the cost over a long period of time to keep taxes at a reasonable level. And interest rates on your city's bonds are decided by competitive bidding to get the lowest rate under prevailing bond market conditions.
The Bank of America and its associ-ated dealers bid on virtually all municipal bonds issued in the State. We believe in Californians and California communities. And we're as eager as you are to see the value of your biggest single investment—your home—increase!
You can make sure your property values do increase by taking an active personal interest in your local govern-ment. How? Vote in all bond elections and support bond issues for local and com-munity improvements.
