Anaheim Private School to Focus Boosting Output of Students
for its first regular semester on September 10.
Walden, located at 1019 W. La Palma Avenue in Anaheim, will operate under a new concept, in that its staff will employ many techniques and teaching tools which have been proven in research with the Armed Forces to help people to learn better and faster.
Boys and girls will be enabled to learn at a rate which corresponds to their real ability, and they move just as fast as they are able.
Included on the staff of especially qualified teachers are many with masters and doctors degrees, among them Dr. Urban Creech, himself a concert performer who studied piano with the famous Artur Schnabel, and who was at one time the teacher of Leanard Penarrrio.
Heading the faculty is its principal, William Wiley, long time teacher and principal in both public and private schools, whose advantage to students of a multi-graded classroom in which children can work and learn at their own achievement level regardless of age.
"When we do not limit the progress of children," says Wiley, "it is almost amazing to see how they work toward goals of high achievement. The real job of the educator is one of motivation."
Walden School, which, I sponsored by the Psychological Guidance Center, cooperates closely with other private and public schools in the County to assure that students will receive the best education possible. A well balanced program, planned for the enrichment of both mind and body, is the goal of Walden School.
