The play is being presented this Wednesday and Friday evenings at 8:30 p.m. and Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. during the second annual Shakespeare Festival at Chapman College, Orange. Children under 16 will be admitted free at the matinee performance Aug. 3. Alternating with "The Tempest" in the Festival is "The Merchant of Venice," with both productions directed by Henry Kemp-Blair, Chapman assistant professor of drama. Mexico Boy Scouts to Seek OK Of Beacon Sprinter S Big Future Kim Crittenden, one of the hundreds of youngsters that participated in the 11th Annual A City Track Meet, sure has a lot of courage. It was just learned that the 14-year old teenager who brought fame to John Marshall playground by taking first place in the 100 yard dash had to give his doctor's permission to run in the meet. It seems that he was released from the hospital only four weeks ago, following an emergency appendectomy. "I wanted to run in the meet, so I asked my coach at John Marshall, Glenn Lukenbill," Kim said. "He called my doctor for me and I was given permission. I felt okay at the start of the race, and felt even better after winning the blue first place ribbon", he said. Eyes Football Crittenden, who was an athlete at Brookhurst Jr. High, will be enrolling at Savanna High this fall. The 145 pounder hopes to try out for football. And if the courage it took to win the century dash reflects his attitude and desire then Savanna should have itself a fine athlete within the next two years. Speaking of the All City Meet there were 4 new marks and records were tied. These included Kelly Patrick's time of 6.1 in the 25 yard dash for six-year-old Mexico Boy Scouts to Get Welcome Scoutmaster Prentice Moreland, Jr., of Troop 30, Anaheim with illiam Frenzel, chairman and Committeemen John Todhunter and Hugh Cook will meet at the International Boundary of U. S. and Mexico this Saturday to pick up a quartet of Mexico Boy Boy Scouts who will visit their respective families prior to a weeks stay at Camp Ahwahnee. Camp Ahwahnee is the Northern Orange County Council, Boy Scouts of America summer camp located in the San Bernardino mountains. Included in the contingent from El Cipres, Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico is Hugh Alberto Balderas Ocana, Arturo Chauri Bodriquez, Richardo Rodriquez and Raul Calvo Alvarez. The Mexican Boy Scouts belonging to Troop 18 will camp from July 27 to Aug. 3 at Geronimo. Troop 30 is sponsored by the Orangeview Junior High School Parent-Teachers Association. Troop 10 of Tijuana Boy Scouts who have spent the past week at Camp Ahwahnee will be returned to the border by Dan Coulter. Troop 30 Anaheim and Leo Van Campen, Troop 76, Cypress. Nine Mexican boys attended the wide and varied program of recreation and instruction under the guidance of Harold Van Patten, Placentia and Camp Director Ken Huish of Breas. Seek OK Of Beacon At Beach A new landmark for Southern California boat skippers to "home" on is in the making at Newport Beach. The landmark will be The Towers, eight story condominium apartment building on "Mariner's Mile", famed Newport bayfront mecca of yachting. Developers David Young, Laguna Beach, and Morris Selvage, Newport Beach, today announced plans to apply to the U. S. Coast Guard to place a beacon atop the structure as an aid to navigators. The top of The Towers is 92 feet above sea level and is visible a distance of 46 miles at sea. The silhouette of the concrete service core of the building — which was formed and poured in a record 10 days — is visible from the north city limits of Laguna Beach. The Towers — due for initial completion before Christmas — marks a change in the character of Mariner's Mile. Orange County officials have announced plans to erect a multiple story office and professional building on the county dock adjacent to The Towers while other large scale developments along the Coast Highway 101A route between the Arches and Balboa Bay Club are now in various stages of planning. Anderson Named Nat'l Treasurer Of Accountants A. Leon Anderson of Fullerton has been elected to serve the Orange County Chapter of National Association of Accountants as the Treasurer for 1963-64 fiscal year. Anderson is a charter member of the chapter and served the prior two years on the Board as Director-Manuscripts and Secretary. In the 13-year old girls 50 yard dash, Sue DeVos set a new mark in the time of 7.0seconds flat, while in the 14 year old girls 50 yard dash, Jane Hitt ran the distance in 7.1 seconds. Over 1,000 youngsters participated in the 21 playgrounds semifinal meet. Only winners in each respective event represented their playground at the All City Final Meet. The meet was sponsored by the Anaheim Park and Recreation Department. Pearson Park won the playground title in over-all points for the second consecutive year by edging out Mattie Lou Maxwell 107 - 106. In the feature event of the evening, Chuck Hankins won the Marathon race.
