Davies, interior communications electrician second class, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. LEGAL NOTICES LEGAL NOTICES NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF ORANGE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the qualified electors residing within the territory hereinafter described that a special election will be held in said territory on Tuesday, the 13th day of August, 1963, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors residing in said territory the question whether said new territory shall be annexed to, incorporated in, and made a part of said City of Orange and the property therein be, after such annexation, subject to taxation equally with the property within said City of Orange to pay its pro-rata share, based upon assessed valuation, of all the bonded indebtedness of said City of Orange outstanding or authorized at the date of First Publication of this Notice or Election, to wit, July 18, 1963, for the acquisition, construction or completion of municipal improvements, is situated in the County of Orange, Stad of California, is contiguous to the said City of Orange, and is more particularly described as follows to wit: Beginning at the angle point in the present boundary of the City of Orange, California, said angle point being on the West line of land recorded in Book 2911, page 147, Official Records Orange County, with the South line of Lincoln Avenue (Anaheim-Olive Road) 20 feet South of the centerline as measured at right angles, as described in deed recorded April 27, 1915, in Book 274, page 565 of Deeds, Orange County, said angle point also being the Northeast corner of Annexation No. 171, Ordinance No. 50-61, said angle point also being North $3^2$ $0^2$ $2^2$ $2^5$ East along $1651$ feet more or less from the intersection of the centerline of Lincoln Avenue; thence South $13^2$ $0^2$ $3^2$ East along the present boundary of the City of Books and along said West line of said land recorded in said Books and along said West line of said land recorded in said Books and along said West line of said Land Recorded in Book 4291, page 147, Official Records Orange County, 445.50 feet to an angle point in said parcel; Smith Judge: Helen Cudworth On the ballots to be used in said special election in addition to any other matters required by law, there shall be printed substantially the following: MARK CROSS(+) ON BALLOT ONLY WITH RUBBER STAMP: NEVER-WITH PEN OR PENCIL (ABSENTE BALLOTS MAY BE MARKED WITH PEN AND INK OR PENCIL) INSTRUCTIONS TO VOTERS To vote on any measure, stamp a cross (+) in the voting square after the word "YES" or after the word "NO". All marks except the cross (+) are forbidden. All distinguishing marks or signatures are forbidden and make the ballot void. If you wrongly stamp, tear or deface this ballot, return it to the inspector of election and obtain another. On absent voter ballots mark a cross (+) with pen or pencil. MEASURE SUBMITTED TO VOTE OF VOTERS Shall ANNEXATION NO. 211 be annexed to the City of Orange, California, and the property in said ANNEXATION NO. 211 be, after such annexation, subject to taxation equally with the property within said City of Orange to pay its pro-rata share, based upon assessed valuation, of all bonded indebtedness of said City of Orange outstanding or authorized, at the date of the First Publication of Notice of Election, for the acquisition, construction or completion of municipal improvements. A cross (+) placed in the voting square after the word "YES" in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted in favor of the adoption of the proposition or measure. A cross (+) placed in the voting square after the word "NO" in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted against the adoption of the proposition or measure. The qualified electors residing in said new territory so proposed to be annexed to said City of Orange are hereby directed to vote upon the question of the annexation of said territory to the City of Orange and the subjection of said territory, after annexation, to taxation equally with the property within said City of Orange paying its pro-rata share, based upon assessed valuation of all bonded indebtedness of said City of Orange outstanding or authorized, at the date of the First Publication of this Notice of Election, to wit, July 18, 1963, for the acquisition, construction or completion of municipal improvements, by stamping a cross (+) in the voting square after the word "YES" on the ballots to be used in said election, or by stamping a cross (+) in the voting square after the word "NO" on such ballots. If an elector shall stamp a cross (+) in the voting square after the printed word "YES", the vote of such elector shall be counted in favor of said territory being annexed to incorporated in and made part of the City of Orange to pay its pro-rata share, based upon assessed valuation of all bonded indebtedness of said City of Orange outstanding or authorized, at the date of the filing of the said date of the First Publication of this Notice of Election, to wit, July 18, 1963, for the acquisition, construction or completion of municipal improvements and if an elector shall stamp a cross (+) in the voting square after the printed word "NO", the vote of such elector shall be counted against such annexation. The improvements for which bonded indebtedness of the City of Orange has been incurred, outstanding at the date of the First Publication of this notice, and the amounts thereof, and the maximum rates of interest payable thereon are as follows: - Funds: Maximum Rate Amount of Interest Outstanding (Percent) ing on July 18, 1963 - Sewer Bonds: 1,666 $ 72,000.00 - Water Facilities Bonds: 3,097 $ 1,000,000.00 - Library Bonds: 3,960 $ 405,000.30 - Municipal Improvement Bonds: 3,258 $ 2,870,000.00 - Total bonded indebtedness as of July 18, 1963 $ 3,847,000.00.
