Arnella S 'Old,' is A As the operator of a beauty salon constantly thinking of "to-morrow" in style and fashion, Arne Atkinson is till not so engrossed that she does not have a nostalgic tug at her heart for the fine old days in Anaheim when the city Christmas tree was in the intersection of Center and Los Angeles streets. The capability of looking back upon the good things of life and at the same time concentrating upon the future and what the fashionable clientele she serves will be wanting in beauty treatment, is one of the characteristics of Arne. She has been a local resident for the past 40 years in Anaheim, being a member of the family of Mrs. Ella Wimberly. She attended Anaheim Elementary School and was graduated from Anaheim Union High School. She specialized in business training, Arne reports, in high school, taking up training in cosmetology at Fullerton. JEWELERS HURST JEWELERS — 132 W. LINCOLN KENDRICKS JEWELERS — 155 W. Arnella Staff, 115 Years old,' is Ahead of Trend Regardless of economic reports, or in addition to economic reports, which ever way one might interpret them, Downtown Anaheim is a terrific place in which to conduct business. This is the conclusion of William Cahail, head of "Cahail the Tailor" of 108 West Lincoln. Cahail contributes his own "terrific business" ideas to the Downtown area, starting off this week with Christmas sales as a mid-summer speciality. He has a full - fledged Santa Claus nodding to passers by as they look at the sale items he has presented in his windows. Incidentally, the preparation of the Cahail windows is not left to the whims of chance but are carefully arranged according to the style fashioned by artist George Janiga. This is the first year that Cahail has sported a Christmas in July sale festival but he asserts it looks like a perennial affair from now on. Cahail, who is married and the father of three boys, came to Anaheim in 1957 and opened his first shop on North Los Angeles Street. In May, 1961, he moved to larger quarters and in March of 1962 moved into his present building. He declares that Anaheim has proven over again his early judgment that this was the best place to live and engage in business. The Cahails had come to Orange County from Wisconsin, looking for an attractive community in which to establish their home and business. His survey led him to Anaheim for both goals. Cahail boasts a complete line of men's furnishings and gives particular emphasis to custom tailored suits, sport coats and slacks. Tailoring service includes alterations in garments for both men and women. PROUD OF ARTISTRY — Arne Atkinson, head of Arnella Beauty Salon, contribute time as college advisor and to high school girl's clubs. are providing an aesthetic blend of the latest modes with the person and personality of the individual being served. The staff at Arnella boasts of 115 years in total experience in the service of individual beauty needs. "We all feel we have demonstrated our devotion to the best in hair fashions and beauty needs," Arne declares. "Each month a new 'ahead - of - the - trend coiffure, complete with living color pictures is placed on view for our clientele so that they may see the very latest in trends." "Nevertheless, we provide a number of what might be called 'everyday' styles characterized by soft lines, an easy - to - care for quality that has an appeal for the routine day that many of us experience during a week, reserving the top of the fashion mark for special occasions." It is never a dull moment for Arne and her staff with the constant changes brought out to please the modern female. "We know," she says, "our clientele do not want today what they wanted last year, and won't want tomorrow what they want today." The staff at Arnella, according to Arne, are artists in their own right in styling, and also provide permanent waving, hair coloring and all other basic beauty services. The Arnella Salon also offers a complete line of cosmetics and beauty aids for lovelier hair. Arne Atkinson's greatest satisfaction she assert, is in serving, time and time again, the same individual. "This is real proof of your capability," she says, "and is vital for any business to succeed. Thanks to our steady friends we have succeeded in Downtown Anaheim."
