Hawkins expressed his appreciation to the agencies of the fund and the budget committee for their efforts to serve the area and maintain the most conservative operating expenses possible for the many voluntary programs vital to our community. The chairman explained, "The 1963 United Fund goal is truly realistic in every way and represents a very small amount to give for such a basic, overall community practice, that provides a major part of the healthy environment and community well being in which each and every one of us share."
Hawkins announced that campaign plans are being made toward a short, intensive drive to be conducted area-wide during the last two weeks of October.
