The association contribute to the support of several charities during the year, largely through the proceeds from an annual rumage sale. They also provide comforts for children at the Albert Sitton Home and for an "adopted" patient at the Fairview State Hospital. Other officers of the group selected for the coming year include: Mdmes: Bruce Robinson, vice president; Clement C. Kramer and Jerry Foster, secretaries; Robert Puckett, treasure; Richad Gray, parliamentarian. Fall UF Drive Fall UF Drive Goal $401,000 A goal of $401,000 has been established for the 1963-64 Anaheim-Wester Communities United Fund. It was announced today in a joint statement by Robert E. Shanks, Fund President, and Edward S. Hawkins, General Campaign Chairman for the drive. The goal was adopted by the United Fund board of directors following the recommendation of the organizations' budget committee, chaired by Mrs. Nicholas Freck. Mrs. Freck stated that her committee had held meetings with each of the 16 member agencies for the purpose of discussing their respective operating budget needs during 1964. Mrs. Freck said her committee was "very sincere, truly objective and honestly concerned in rendering a fair and equitable decision, based on the needs of each agency; one that would be acceptable to the fund board of directors and to the citizens of the area." The chairman explained, "The 1963 United Fund goal is truly realistic in every way and represents a very small amount to give for such a basic, overall community practice, that provides a major part of the healthy environment and community well being in which each and every one of us share." Hawkins announced that campaign plans are being made toward a short, intensive drive to be conducted area-wide during the last two weeks of October.
