Exciting, wonderful progress is being made by the Anaheim Graduation Night Party Committee. This group of hard working parents is spending thousands of hours and thousands of dollars (of which every cent comes from the sale of tickets to the seniors) for the sole purpose of putting on a safe and sane, yet glamorous all night graduation party for the seniors from Anaheim's four High Schools. This year Savanna and Magnolia will hold their party on June 12, followed by Anaheim and Western together on June 13. Both parties will be at Western High.
Charles Ross, general chairman stressed again at the last meeting,"any effort we make no matter how difficult, is worth it, if we can avoid an accident by saving one senior from driving some place where liquor is permitted or supervision is not complete."
This party group, and the idea of an all night party was started some years ago for the purpose of providing right-at-home a wonderful party that would rival anything the young people would find at any night spot anywhere in Southern California; and they have achieved their goal. For all though the party is held in a gym except for the outside of the building, no one would recognize it.
This year the theme, voted on by the students, is Roman Holiday and already, chariots, statues, and old Roman ruins are being assembled. The entertain-

Mall Project Is Only Part Of Revamping
The idea rehabilitation of the downtown area might be a project that is represented by any effort to create a "mall" in only a certain square block was heavily criticized this week by chamber of commerce officials.
"Actually, the so-called "mall" area," according to George Strachan, chamber manager, "reflects only the culmination of a single part of plans that have been discussed for some years by merchants throughout the downtown area.
"The entire effort is broadly one of rehabilitation and redevelopment that will materially upgrade the appearance of the whole section. It is a cooperative effort of all concerned, property owners, business houses and the city government."
The city government has been studying plans to contribute to the rehabilitation by the improvement of city parking facilities, alleys and streets. The city has also expressed the need for construction in some spots that will bring structures up to the modern standards required by codes and

Food will be served continuously from 9 to 3 and any ticket holder may eat as much or as often as he wishes. A sampling of the buffet will include cold turkey, ham, roast beef, cheeses, rolls, all kinds of salads, relishes and cake.

Any one who can lend the group the following items is urged to contact Mrs. Pinamonti at 828-5397: Anything decorative in the Roman theme, such as shields, javelins; round barbeques for fire pits; movable shrubery such as olive trees or plants; fireproof draperies, flouescent paint; rolls of paper of all kinds; chaise lounges; ivy cuttings; chicken wire, fire wood, Roman urns.
