JC District Plan Hearing is Slated
A proposed plan for junior college district to include Fullerton, Brea-Olinda, Placentia and the Anaheim Union High School District, will have a public hearing Thursday, April 4, in the Fremont Junior High School Auditorium.
The meeting has been arranged by the County Committee on School District Organization. Following the public hearing, the committee expects to be able to come to some final decision on the plan.
Efforts of planners have been directed toward finding some equitable solution to the problem of matching the already-built Fullerton junior college facilities and then providing further facilities in being where needed elsewhere in the area, without placing Fullerton in a double-support position.

Mrs. Warren Hodges Honored by 'Y' Girls
The Girl's Department Supervisors of the Anaheim YMCA honored Mrs. Warren Hodges recently at a luncheon, expressing appreciation for 24 years of outstanding service to the Anaheim YMCA. Mrs. Hodges recently retired from the YMCA Board of Directors, and in so doing relinquished her position as Chairman of the Girl's Program Committee, a position she has held for the past five years.
During the years Mrs. Hodges has served with the Women's Section of the Anaheim YMCA she has seen the department grow from a few clubs for girls, supervised on a volunteer basis by the wife of the Secretary, to full fledged department with a Girls' Program Director and six part-time Program Supervisors, serving more than 60 Tri Hi-Y and Jr. Tri Hi-Y clubs. With the expansion of the community from one high school to five, and one Jr. High to ten, the Girl's Department has made every effort to keep pace with the expanding needs of the community. Club work is offered in all five high schools, and in seven of the ten Junior High schools.
In Committee work during the period Mrs. Hodges has seen the work grow from one Women's Advisory Committee to a structure wherein each school unit has an organized Women's Committee as a working unit, planning, assisting, and guiding that section of the work. These committees are coordinated in the Girl's Work Committee of the Board of Directors of which Mrs. Hodges has been the chairman.
Mrs. James Cummins has been appointed by Richard W. Gay, President of the YMCA Board, to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of the honoree. The supervisors presented Mrs. Hodges with a musical tea cup to add to her collection and a lovely Bone China creamer and sugar bowl to be used with them. The luncheon was held in the home of Mrs. Nan Moore, Girl's Program Director.
Attending were Mrs. Roy Agree, Mrs. Orlo Fast, Mrs. Robert Conderc, Mrs. Julius Teske, Miss Laura Legg, Mrs. John Bollinger, Mrs. James Cummins and their honoree.
While relinquishing her office capacity as Chairman of the Committee and member of the Board of Directors, Mrs. Hodges will remain as a member - at large - of the Anaheim High School Women's Committee, related to the clubs in Anaheim High School and supervised by Mrs. R Agren.
