KE Legal Work Blowed by Detail
Filing of condemnation proceedings against the Dyke Water Co. by the city of Anaheim will probably not take place earlier than next week. This was the prospect from the city attorney's office as the mass of data to be included in the filing was once again being verified.
In general, acting city attorney John Dawson declared, the Dyke property sought by the city is the same as discussed before the Public Utilities Commission and the same as contemplated in the informal offer to purchase at a cost of $1.9 million. The commission hearings established certain perimeters for the acquisition and it is the Dyke property located within these perimeters that is being definitely identified in the new proceedings.
The condemnation was directed by the Anaheim city council. The action came as a step toward "expediency" in the current negotiations between the city and Dyke company for the purchase of properties that will bring some 7,100 customers into the city water users fold.

Jumbos to Race At Los Alamitos
"We have one of the fastest tracks in the world, but after the elephant race it will probably be the slowest," Clif McAfee, publicity director for Los Alamitos Race Track, said recently at a press conference held by the Orange State College Elephant Racing Club. Los Alamitos Race Track, which is normally restricted to horses, is the probable site of the second intercollegiate elephant race being held on May 10, the Day of the Titan.
Newspaper, magazine, radio and television representatives attended the official conference. Greeting the visitors were Ben Wade ERC president from Fulton Raynolds Johnson, OSC public relations director, and two baby elephants from Jungleland.
Acquired as hosts and hostesses were members of the Oricles, a college service organization, and student body coeds selected by the Oricles. Coffee and rolls were served prior to the showing of a motion picture of last year's world famous "pachaderby."
Although approved by College faculty and administration, Ernest A. Becker, OSC dean of students, pointed out certain provisions which will have to be met before a second race can be held. These included putting the race on a paying basis and solving the problems of crowd and elephant control.
The second elephant race, sponsored by ERC to raise "Dollars for Scholars" or to help finance the future Student Union, will again include entries from rival colleges and universities around the world.

FIVE ARMY MISSILES SOLDIERS
The history of modern missiles — from 13th century "arrows of flying fire" to today's space vehicles — will be shown to Southern California residents visiting the National Orange Show, March 14-24, in San Bernardino.
Five actual missiles from the Army family of defense weapons accent the interesting and educational display.
Visitors to the exhibit will have an opportunity to inspect the missiles at close range, seeing weapons that run the gamut from shoulder-fired rocket (REDEYE)
and deadly tank-killer (SS-11), to close combat support on the battlefield (LITTLE JOHN and LA-CROSSE) and portable antiaircraft defense (HAWK).
Another highlight of the display is an electronic defense map of the United States, showing how American missiles can track, intercept and destroy any invading enemy aircraft.
One section of the display traces rocketry from the time — in 1232 AD — the Chinese defeated a Mongol horde with history's first "arrows of flying fire," to today's
