Chao's is located directly across the street from Disneyland on Harbor Blvd. West Coast To Join Nation in Veterans Day Key Observances Key observances of Veterans Day, Sunday, Nov. 11, will be conducted across the nation by the President’s People-to-People Program, Veterans Committee, with Sacred Torch Relay ceremonies taking place in the East, Mid-west and West, Lewis K. Gough, People-to-People Veterans Committee co-chairman with Capt. Eddie Rickenbacker, announced today. The West Coast observance will take place at 2 p.m. in the Court of Freedom, at Forest Lawn Glendale, with six foreign nations participating. The state commander kindled in France, Italy, Israel, Mexico, Great Britain and Belgium, and place them before the Serviceman’s Monument in the Court of Freedom, where the program will be climaxed by traditional rifle volleys and sounding of “Taps.” City and state officials will be guests, and George Murphy, actor and film executive, will speak. This course in library techniques is of special benefit to all persons interested in taking the Iowa Test of Educational Development for a high school diploma. Intensive training in grammar and in the uses of the dictionary and other sources of information is stressed. Mr. Blanche Gore, Anaheim High School librarian, is the competent and popular instructor for this course. This course will start Wednesday, Nov. 14 in the Anaheim High School library. William Montonna, administrative assistant, Orange Unified School District, stated that the annual Industry Education Workshop would be held today and tomorrow. Industries to be visited are Delco Battery, Disneyland Hotel, and Pacific Telephone Company, all of Anaheim, and Union Oil Company of Brea, Autonetics of Fullerton and Sears of Pasadena. As has been customary in the past, the various industries will have an opportunity to inform the visiting counselors about the jobs represented in their plants, the type of employment possibilities anticipated, and the preparation necessary for employment. The visitations will also offer industry the chance to explain to the counselors the ways in which the schools can provide more effective service in terms of job placement. The workshop marks the fourth such activity sponsored by the office of the Orange County Superintendent of Schools and the Orange County Guidance Association.
