More than twenty of Anaheim's loveliest lasses have signed in for the October 20 judging, it was reported yesterday. Winner of the competition will be awarded a 13-day cruise for two aboard the S. S. Acapulco, will receive the title of 1962-63's Miss Anaheim, and will reign over the annual Holloween Festival and Parade on October 27.
Competition is sponsored this year by the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce and by the Junior Chamber. Ken Cotlow is in charge of arrangements for the Jaycees, while Marie Wilke will represent the Chamber of Commerce.
Judging will be held October 20 in the Chrysler Building auditorium in Anaheim, it was reported.
Contest is open to all girls living in Anaheim who are unmarried and between the ages of 17 and 25.
New Miss Anaheim will reign over the 39th annual Halloween Festival and will participate in various city functions during the year.
Judging
Judging will be based on personality, figure, poise and beauty, chairmen of the competition merce and no personal appearances as 'Miss Anaheim' shall be made without the approval of the Chamber.
Judges will select the Queen, a second and third place princess Princesses will be moved up in the event of marriage, moving from the area or inability of Miss Anaheim to be available for publicity.
Office Open
Anaheim Chamber officials also announced this week that the office at 122 North Lemon St. will remain open nights until 7 p.m., and all day Saturday, through October 7 to accommodate the public in purchasing tickets for the annual Community Costume Breakfast in Pearon Park and for the pre-parade show and Pageant Parade in LaPalma Park, October 27.
Prepared by the Izaak Walton League, the breakfast will be served until 8 a.m. Professional entertainment and a Halloween Costume judging contest will be included with the food for $1.25 per person.
Tickets for the pre-parade show and parade at LaPalma Stadium are available for $1 general admission and $2 reserved seats.
