FEMININE FASHIONS — Three models show some of the new fall fashions to be shown at the Soroptimist Club fall style show Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Yorba Junior High School in Orange. From left are Sharon Seidler, Jerry Fitzer and Mrs. Lenora Stock. Soroptimist Club is a nation-wide classified service organization for women with an active branch in Anaheim. Eta Epsilon Hold Candlelight Rites
"Gathering of the Jewels" was the theme of a candlelight ceremony held by Eta Epsilon Anaheim chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, at the home of Mrs. Ronald Costello.
The formal ceremony was conducted by Miss Virginia Bliss, past president to install two transferees, Mrs. Hazen Davison and Mrs. Walter Singer, and to reaffiliate Mrs. Thomas Frost. Also honored at the event was a pledge, Mrs. Paul Duron.
Dinner was then served after the installation ceremony at the home of Mrs. James Fry where members also enjoyed interesting pointers in the art of hat making.
Red Cross Sets Baby Care Class
"Before the baby comes" — "After the baby arrives" — are some areas to studied in the mother and baby care classes begin this month at the Anaheim Chapter of the American Cross.
Expectant mothers will learn what the well-dressed baby must have. Even the fathers will learn to become quick-change arrivers during the course, promised by Eva Carlil, chairman of the Cross nursing services committee.
The evening class which began yesterday will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday for the weeks. Mrs. Gladys Cain will videote the instruction. The more class will be held Mondays Wednesday from 8:30 to 11:30.
Xi Eta Eta's Name Chairmen
Xi Eta Eta members gathered at the home of their new president, Mrs. Robert Smith for their initial meeting where she introduced her committee chairmen for the ensuing year and they in turn reported on tentative plans which indicate an interesting and productive year.
Mrs. Don Henry, program chairman, distributed program books and introduced the cultural program schedule and presented the first thought provoking program — "On Being Alive."
Nineteen members and guests attended the S.C.C. "Las Vegas Brunch" at the Lafayette Hotel in Long Beach recently.
Art School To Open
Registrations are being taken for the fall session at the new Laguna Beach Art School of Art and Design, 370 Broadway, a division of the Laguna Beach Art Association. Information may be obtained by calling HY 4-1520 or by writing to 630 Broadway, Laguna Beach.

Rosary Institute 109 Reports Active
Our Lady of the Rosary Institute No. 109 held a dinner in the Odd Fellows' hall, preceding a meeting presided over by Mrs. Bart Pasini, president. Chairman in charge of the dinner was Mrs. John Eiff and her committee, Mrs. Gene Laughlin, Mrs. Mary Chelminiak and Mrs. Wesley Osborn.
New members, Mrs. Bernard Mertes, Mrs. George Kolb and Mrs. John Borges were dinner guests, and were also honored at a tea with Mrs. Charles Wetter as chairman assisted by Miss Helen Canton, Mrs. Conrad Steib and Mrs. Anthony Ventriglia. Pouring at the tea table was Miss Mary Jean Lambert and Mrs. Wm. Jolissaint.
OSC Begins Formal Rush
Announcements have been made by the fraternities and sororities of Orange State College in Fullerton that their formal rush for new members will continue through Oct. 8.
Officiating over the rush program will be student officers from each organization. Greek-letter clubs and officers are as follows Dela Chi Delta — Barbara Harris president: Carolyn Mrs. Steve Kish, chairman of the Treasure Chest, which will be raffled later in the year, announced members wishing to donate linens for the chest may contact her.
Mrs. Ralph Pennelli, chairman of the benefit fashion show to be held Nov. 10, announced that proceeds will be donated to the new St. Boniface Church now under construction. It will be held at the ning at 8 p.m. in the American Legion Hall, 936 No. Lemon St., is open to the public. Chairman is Mrs. Anthony Lipsky, 530-3319. Anaheim Bowl. Proceeds from the Rummage Sale recently held will be used for City and County welfare projects.
The report on the rehabilitation and christian education of girls at Juvenile Hall in which members of Anaheim YLI participate, was made by Mrs. Wm. Jolissaint. Miss Rose Mouch, former County nurse is chairman of the project, and volunteers who can assist may contact her.

CD Women Set Fall Confab
A three-day California women's civil defense conference will be held next month at the Charterhouse Hotel in Anaheim, it was announced today by Allan K. Jonas, director of the California Disaster Office.
Oct. 5 through 7, more than 400 women representing key educational and civic organizations in the state, will attend this second annual CD conference to learn new developments in survival planning.
The meeting opens Friday evening, Oct. 5, with a briefing on emergency medical resources presented by members of the Disaster Office medical and health division.
On Saturday, Oct. 6, the general session will include a speech by Major Ford Dawson and Capt. Floyd Jack, U. S Air Force, Donald M. Hart, State Board of Education member; George D. McCarthy, and State and local. A special report of national CD legislation will be presented at the evening banquet by Rep. Chet Holifield (D-Calif.).
At the breakfast session on Sunday, Oct. 7, Richard F. Gordon, Director, Disaster Services of the American National Red Cross (Pacific Area), will describe "Human Reactions in National Disasters."
The concluding session on Sunday will feature Dr. Charles F. Richter, professor of seismology, California Institute of Technology who will speak on "Earthquake Risks in California." Speakers scheduled from the educational field are Mrs. George Elliot, CD chairman for the California Congress of Parents and Teachers; Mmes. Jean Fuller and Grace Bell, Civil Defense Training Center, DOD, Alameda; and William Hamilton, State Department of Education Consultant.

Another worthy chapter will be adde to the impressive volume recording the activities of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae Association of Orange County with the organization's staging of the opening night benefit premiere at the Orange County Interior Design Show at the Fairgrounds Oct. 23-28.
Recently the Northern and Southern chapters of KKG joined forces to plan the first night sponsorship for the purpose of raising funds to provide college scholarships for deserving Orange County young women. Heading up the arrangements which includes area-wide ticket sales are the two chapter presidents Mrs. William E. Chichester, Newport Beach and Mrs. James L. Hayes, Garden Grove.
