The Woman's World GOSPEL SINGERS — The Songfellows Quartet demonstrate their enthusiasm at the recent Buena Park Singspiration held at the Retail Clerks Auditorium. St. Michael's Festival Heads Fall Activities A fall festival heads the list of activities for the coming season at St. Michael's Episcopal Church at 311 W. South St. Scheduled for Oct. 6 from 10am to 4pm. Serving on the committee are Helen Geisert, Margaret Smith, Lois McCrystal, Mrs. Saville, Susan Guild, Lucy Rasmus, Bruce Rogers, Greg Richards, Don Mead. Church School classes are now in session and includes classes through the 12th grade and for adults at 8:45 and 10 a.m. and through the sixth grade at 11:15 a.m. The theme for this year is the development of the Episcopal Church. A new award system for children from first grade through high school will be initiated this year. Special achievements in the fields of memorization, religious knowledge, Christianity... South St. Scheduled for Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., the festival is under the chairmanship of E. Browzowsky assisted by E. Cunha. In the plans are a number of game booths, food tooths and gift booths, a haunted room, fortune teller and boy scout display. Serving on the committee are Helen Geisert, Margaret Smith, Lois McCrystal, Mrs. Saville, Susan Guild, Lucy Rasmus, Bruce Rogers, Greg Richards, Don Markowitz, Don Geistert, Dorothy Shirley, Jack Paris, Buffie Ireland, Jack Paris, Betty Stromquist, Mary Ellen Kilborne, Nancy King, Dorothy Fassel, Corrine Deveral and Connie Helps. Church School classes are now in session and includes classes through the 12th grade and for adults at 8:45 and 10 a.m. and through the sixth grade at 11:15 a.m. The theme for this year is the development of the Episcopal Church. The boy scouts of Troop 12 are back on their fall schedule with plans for a camping trip to Barton Flats and a trip to San Diego Zoo. The scouts will be selling hot dogs at the festival. B'nai B'rith Women To Meet Sept. 26 Covenant Chapter B'nai B'rith Women will hold its next regular meeting Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. at Temple Beth Emet, 400 N. Emily St., Anaheim, announces Mrs. Jay Wise, president. Mrs. Murray Balmages, charter president of the Chapter and currently serving as president of Harbor Council of B'nai B'rith will present an interesting and informative meeting which will answer everyone's questions regarding "What is B'nai B'rith?" Anaheim Man Area's RC Blood Red Cross officials announced today that Roy Wade of Anaheim is the new coordinator of the Orange County Emergency blood delivery service. Wade assumed the volunteer position this week for the Los Angeles-Orange Counties Regional Blood Center. Former coordinator, Mrs. John F. Anthony of Costa Mesa, turned direction of the depot over to Wade after serving 18 months as supervisor. Coordinator is in charge of the blood depot which distributes free blood and its derivatives as need- COUNTY-WIDE COORDINATOR — Holding a Red Cross certificate of appreciation for her devoted work as head of the Orange County Emergency Blood Depot is Mrs. John F. Anthony of Costa Mesa. The coordinator, having served term of 18 months, is turning over the responsibilities to Roy Wade of Anaheim. Blood depot is open 24 hours each and every day for calls from any of the 21 county hospitals. It is located at the Southern Orange County Red Cross office, and is staffed by volunteers from the four county Red Cross chapters. Evangelical United Brethren Church 800 S. So KE 5-50 Anaheim Anaheim Gazette Trident PTA Sets Fall Activities The first board meeting of the Trident Junior High PTA was held at the home of the president, Mrs. William Harrison. Executive board members attending were: Mrs. Waler Bartram, first vice; Mrs. Richard Mendez, second vice; Mrs. Charles Balun, third vice; Mrs. Robert Halstead, recording secretary; Mrs. Russel Eckenboy, corresponding secretary; and Mrs. Orvin Commbe, parliamentarium. School representative was Clayton D. Wardell, principal of Trident Junior High. Ratified at the meeting were the following chairman; Verne Defore, safety and juvenile; Mrs. John Gerstkemper, health and welfare; Mrs. Verne Defore, inspirational; Mrs. John R. Morgan, music; Mrs. Jeff A. Hernandez, hospitality; Mrs. Dick van Roggen, co-chairman hospitality; Mrs. Harry Tucker, Jr., magazines; Mrs. George A. Prokop, civil defense; Mrs. T. C. Ways and means committee December and January at Trident Junior High. All secondary schools in Orange County will be holding their clinic at the same time. Elementary schools will not be holding clinics and parents and children are requested to attend the high or junior high school closest to their school for vaccination. Anyone interested in volunteering their services for the clinic at Trident are asked to call Prospect 6-0428. The next board meeting will be held October 4 at 12 noon. OCPA Slates First Meeting Women's Auxiliary to the Orange County Pharmaceutical Association will convene Sept. 19 for the first meeting of the new club term at the Jolly Roger in Anaheim. The social hour is 11:30 and luncheon at 12. Hostesses will be Mrs. George Buell of Anaheim and Mrs. Robert Grow of Garden Grove. Those assuming office for the new year are Mmes. Numerous artists from surrounding districts are registered to show. The Sidewalk Art Exhibition begins Thursday and continues through Sunday, Sept. 16. The public is invited to attend free of charge. Anyone still wishing to display his works may do so by coming to Lincoln-Knott Aves. and signing in on the days he wishes to be there. The rules are that someone must stay with the paintings. They must set up and take down daily. Pegboards or other props may be used. There are no registration fees or commission. Anticipating the four months of planning which will precede their second annual Bal Masque Feb. 22, the “Ladies of Charity” will combine business with fun during the buy week-end. President Miss Marcelina Arroues and Mrs. Samuel Gendel, first vice president, will greet members and their husbands at the evening social event at the Gendel home. They will be assisted by a committee which includes Mmes. Raymond Thompson, G. Wendell Olson, Jay Reed and Robert Erickson, Ramiro Fernandez, Thomas Lawton and Eugene Mohler. Preceding the cocktail party will be the regular membership meeting at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 28 in the staff room of St. Juda Hospital where Miss Arroues will introduce seven new members. This year’s ball committee, under the direction of Mrs. Roger C. Hope, chairman, is already at work on selection of a theme, decorations, mannequins, and florists. Preliminary meetings have been held during the summer following naming of committee members. Announcement of mannequins, selected from the membership, will be in October, prior to a ball committee dinner which will honor the mannequins. Orange District CFWC To Meet With El Camino Real Women Council meeting of the Orange District CFWC will be held Friday, Sept. 14, at the San Clemente Inn, with members of the El Camino Real Woman’s Club acting as hostesses, under the direction of Mrs. C. A. Ramsey, president. Mrs. Grant Hendricks, district president, will open the morning session at ten with invocation by Dr. Clyde B. Boyer, Community Methodist Church, Palisades-Capistrano Beach, followed by a patriotic message from Mrs. Homer DeSadeleer, and song by Mrs. Kenneth Stromquist, Mrs. Robert Bidwell, Jr. will respond to the welcome by the hostess presi bit, will be distributed to the various clubs at this meeting. Lunchon will follow at the Inn. The afternoon session will consist of music presented by Mrs. Stromquist after which the speaker of the day, Mrs. Chester Skalmowski, coordinator of Special Services at Fairview State Hospital, will be presented by Mrs. Bldwell.
