American Women Have Edge Say Contestants
The American housewife has an everyday edge over the world's most beautiful girls.
Contestants in the International Beauty Congress, leaving Long Beach, California, made the admission themselves after seeing Miss Tania Verstak of Australia crowned "Miss International Beauty."
The average U.S. woman shows more about the art of flatting make-up than most of the beauties from more than 50 countries who competed in the beauty pageant. But the international beauties learned a lot about cosmetics on their glamorous whirlwind Long Beach.
Each contestant, throughout the competition, was made up with Merle Norman International cosmetics. Beauty consultants were instantly on hand to advise each on the colors and type of makeup that would accent her individual beauty to the utmost. The tremendous variety of beautiful representations, from dusky olive complexions to the fairest of the hands, presented real challenge to the Merle Norman contests.
Merle Norman presented each with gift of a stunning white other travel case filled with all necessary cosmetics. All the gifts returned to their native lands, not only with many wonderful gifts, but with a greater beauty knowledge which they can put to future use.
