selected from the pools of Anaheim, Western and Pearson. All had to try out at their respective pool before joining the water follies.
Sommer's only complaint was that the mechanics of the show, the flood lights didn't give out as much light as expected. However, the young members did perform the seven acts with professional skill.
Opening the show was "Enchanted Sea". Members in this number included, Joy Claridge, Dolores Smith, Beverly Grear, Jan Crone, Kathleen Smith, Margaret Drennan, Norma Ahumada, Ofie Ahumada, Linda Vincent, Cheryl Reinhart, Carol Lewis, Jan Pringle and Gay Hilliard.
The two comic acts which provided the laughter for the spectators were the comedy diving teams of Anaheim and Western along with the Championship Clothes Race. In this event, members have to put on a pair of pants and shirt, swim the distance of the pool, and undress. Then his partner must climb into the clothes and return to the other side. Anaheim's team of Bill Coulter, Sam Mosler, Cheryl Matthews and Carol Coulter were the 1962 champions. The other lost their pants in the water — and that's why they didn't finish, on top.
The comedy diving clowns from Anaheim and Pearson pools were Ron Mills, Chris English, Sam Mosler, Larry Metzler, Ralph Cooper and Roy Lutrell. Meanwhile, the clowns from Western included, Gil Crane, Max DeZemplen, Bob Perez and Joe Domante.
