ONE CALL BUYS IT ALL! THINGS TO SEE IN SOUTH Two boat races, one from Catalina Island to Long Beach and the other from Newport Beach to Huntington Beach and return, top the list of things to see and do in the Southland this week. Here is the schedule of activities in the area for the period June 7 through 16 as compiled by the Automobile Club of Southern California. CHATSWORTH: A parade at 4 p.m., June 16, will celebrate the 7th anniversary of the community of Chatsworth. CLAREMONT: "Carnavalde Veracruz" is the Padua Hills Theater attraction through July 21. GLENDALE: "My Three Angels," a light comedy, is current Glendale Center Theater's Doran Branch play. Fifteenth annual Days of the Verdugos celebration will be held June 7th through 10. Events to be held in Glendale Civic Auditorium include home, hobby, outdoor and aquatic shows. HUNTINGTON BEACH: Sloops, are scheduled to take part in a sailing race from Newport Harbor to the marker off the Huntington Beach pier and return June 16. INGLEWOOD: Hollywood Park's annual spring program of horseracing closes July 23. LONG PEACH: The tenth running of the Catalina Island to Long Beach boat race is scheduled to be held June 9 and 10. An estimated 150 boats are scheduled to take part. The race will begin at Avalon at 8 a.m., June 9. The Oregon-Washington-IdaHo state pierics will be held in Bixby Park, June 10. The seventh Annual Fuchsia and Shade Plant Show will be held in the Municipal Auditorium June 16 and 17. Hours will be noon to 10 p.m., June 16, and noon until 9 p.m., June 17. LOS ANGELES: "Wonders Revealed by the Telescope" is at Griffith Park Planetarium through June 10. Featured exhibitions at the County Museum include "Polish National Costumes", an exhibit of early California lithographs, and a display of Feuben Nakian's sculpture and drawings. Chamber music concerts are presented each Sunday at 3 p.m. The Angels play Chicago at 1:30 p.m., June 7, Kansas City at 8 p.m. June 8 and 1:30 p.m., and 10, and Minnesota at June 12 and 13 and June 14. PALA: Religious ceremonies at Mission San Antonio de Pala will celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi for the 146th consecutive year June 10. After religious ceremonies a public barbecue will be held. Featured at barbecue will be dances by Indians of the area. PASADENA: "Send Me No Flowers", a comedy starring Robert Q. Lewis and Carroll Moore is current at Pasadena Playhouse. SAN DIEGO: The annual San Diego National Shakespearean Festival will be held in Balboa Park's Old Globe Theater June 12 through September 9. Elizabethan "Pageant on the Green" with dancing will precede each performance. Yellowtail Derby is current through October 7. Prizes are given every eight weeks. SAN FERNANCO: The 28th annual San Fernando Fiesta will be held through June 9. Event will feature displays and end with a parade at 10:30 a.m. June 9. SANTA BARBARA: Weekly garden tours start at 2 p.m. each Friday through June 29 from the Recreation Center. Polo games are played each Sunday, 2 p.m., at Santa Barbara Polo Club. A community fair and sportsmen show will be held at the Earl Warren Show Grounds June 13 to 17 under the sponsorship of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.
