Linda Isle, the last remaining island in Newport Harbor, is destined to soon become the most exclusive community along the coast. Approval of the tentative map by the Newport Beach City Council last week set the wheels in motion to convert the 28 acres of choice waterfront property into a jewel-like setting for homes, announced Charles S. Thomas, president of The Irvine Company. The island is a famous landmark to the mariners around Newport waters and has a long and colorful history as a favorite setting for many top Hollywood films. "Spring Fling at Disneyland has been announced as a special party Saturday night, April 14, set off the beginning of Spring." Party time is 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets for the "Spring Fling at Disneyland" include admission to the Park, admission to any attraction as many times as desired, dancing to four bands in four locations, and a chance to win a wide array of exciting prizes. Folksingers Wind Up Series Friday Miss Elmerlee Thomas, celebrated folksinger, and Jim Wood, concert guitarist, will present a joint program tomorrow (Friday) at Santa Ana College as the final offering on the Artist-Drama series in Phillips Hall, starting at 8 p.m. Miss Thoma sings in several languages, with a repertoire of operatic, sacred and folk songs. Department Store Is Locally-Owned Anouncement has been made that the first locally-owned department store to begin operation in Orange County within the last 20 years will soon be opened at the Ball-Magnolia Shopping Center, corner of Bali Rd. and Magnolia, south east Anaheim.
