"A delightful show," a "tuneful tour," an "excellent parlay of music, dance and travel..." These are some of the critical comments on Dina Shore's first overseas television program, which will be repeated when she presents top talent from Spain and Portugal on "The Dinah Shore Show" in color.
If you missed this colorful show on its first showing, Nov. 6, 1960, you will want to be sure to take in the lovely sights, songs and dances filmed during Dinah's summer visits to the always-intriguing Spain and Portugal. (Friday, 9:30 p.m., Ch. 4)

How much do you budget for your electrical bill each month? Ten or twenty dollars? Did you ever wonder what it costs a television series for its electricity?
On "Window on Main Street," for example, the cost breakdown goes like this:
There are 210 lamps hooked up by 8000 feet of cable, and they generate around 900 amps. Each bulb costs from $12 to $75, depending on its size, and its life expectancy is from 30 minutes to 40 hours.
It's difficult to estimate what the average electrical bill per day would be during a typical day's shooting on the Robert Young starrer, but it does cost the production compa ny $600 a week for its electrical equipment.
In other words, next time your bill comes in, don't complain!

The movie is based on the runaway steller by Cornelius Ryan and is the American, French, Brit and German positions and reactions to the World War II invasion of Normandie.

Others green-lighted at the studio for Wald are "The Enemy Within" from Attorney General Robert Kennedy's book; "Loat Eril"; "A High Wind in Jamica"; and James Joyce's "Ulysses." Wald also has a sixth property—secret — which he hopes to display at the National convention.
An unprecedented fourth week at 17 New York art houses in addition to racking up long run marks in Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Chicago.
Jose Ferrer, actor turned director turned actor, has "State Fair" ready to open for his directional bows and is just as busy pursuing his acting career. He just completed Mark Robson's Robson's "Nine Hours to Rama" and skipped over to Seville, Spain, to play the role of the sadistic Turkish Bey in "Lawrence of Arabia".
Another "Rama" star, Horst Buchholz, also in the news. The German actor takes a leave of absence from films to appear on Broadway in "Andorra", a play which has received great acclaim in Munich and Frankfurt runs.
Peter Lorre, playing a scene for "Five Weeks in a Balloon" with a chimp named Chester, allowed as how he enjoyed working with the simian but "if he steals one scene from me, I'll break all four arms."
Look for Paul Newman to be the next actor-turned-director. The Oscar nominee ("The Hustler") told UCLA Theatre Arts students of his directorial aims during a speech at th University.
Duke Rodney will make his second Santa Anita start of the season Saturday, when he clashes with a small but potent field in the $20,000 Spring Maturity Trot.
The Spring Maturity, a mile event for four-year-old trotters, highlights the second week of action during the current-20-day Western Harness Racing Assn. spring season.
The Duke, who was the second leading money-winner in the nation last year in the three-year-old trotting division, with earnings of $116,614, looms a heavy favorite in the Maturity, which also is expected to bring out Pigeon Hanover, Nite Shirt and Helen Frost among others.
In two years of racing, Duke Rodney has captured 15 out of 42 starts to accumulate $161.710. In 1961, the son of Rodney captured two-thirds of the Triple Crown of trotting by taking the Yonkers and Kentucky Futurities. He failed to make it a clean sweep by losing the Habletonian to Harlan Dean.
