than a little let down. True,
there are many facilities there.
Certainly there is much more than one can find in a single place in any Orange County city, but I have also known single cities (of modest size — 100,000 pop.) which not only had more, but were larger and much more beautiful.
Still, if you have calm nerves and are a good, steady driver (you want to be careful you don't hit any of the kids cycling on the edges of the highways), you can't beat western Orange County for a relaxing weekend.
If you miss the charm and attractions of a small community (referring them), a trip to Silverado and Modjeska Canyons are worth every bit of your time. And if you like the wildlife, just beyond Silverado Canyon is the Cleveland National Forest, and there is a bird sanctuary at the edge of Modjeska Canyon.
Those who are the hearty type might try climbing some of the hills above Silverado and Modjeska. You'll never quite realize how out of shape you really are until you try it.
If you are sitting there, thinking maybe you will make the trip

WHAT WILL HER LIFE BE LIKE IN THE ALL-ELECTRIC FUTURE?
WHAT WILL HER LIFE BE LIKE IN THE ALL-ELECTRIC FUTURE?
Before her 10th birthday, she'll probably push a button and see a complete meal arrive automatically at the table. By the time she's married, an electromagnetic housekeeper will awaken her, prepare the toast and coffee, open the garage door and warm up the car. These new ideas in modern living depend on electricity.
The electric industry continues to lead in the research to find new ways to produce and use electricity. And logically so. Electricity is our business.
We have already produced it a number of new and different ways, involving the use of fuel cells, nuclear energy, thermionic conversion and magnetohydrodynamics. Whatever the source, electrical energy is limitless, and Southern California Edison will continue to bring you an abundant, dependable supply at the lowest possible rates.

come when our master schedule is made up."
Harf also stated since it is the policy of the Pony-Colt organization to improve their program, this year the league is breaking down the eight teams into two divisions — American and National league.
"The teams this year will each play 21 games," said Harf. "Following the regular season of play, the winner of each division will meet in a three-out-of-five game play-off for the Anaheim championship."
Managers selected by the Pony board this season are, Jack Holman, Tigers; Mel Brandt, Angels; Frank Evans, Yankees; Bob Pekarek, Pirates; Roland Dickens, Cardinals; Butch Bartel, Dodgers; and Dan Bicksler, Braves. The manager for the Red Sox's will be announced next week.
Meanwhile, Colt president, Paul Fitch, looking forward to the up-incoming registration sign-ups, said, "Our division will be a vast improvement over last year's. The boys are bigger and with the added strength from those graduating from the Pony League, we promise an exiting year of baseball.
"Sign-ups for both Pony and Colt are set for this Saturday and March 31 from 10 a.m. — 3 p.m. at Brookhurst Junior High School. Tryouts for Pony will get underway the first four Saturday in April at Mattie Lou Maxwell school. These dates are April 7, 14, 21, and 28. The Colt tryouts will be held at Brookhurst Junior High, the same dates and time."
Returning managers in Herb Brady, Royals; Stan Hickey, Apaches; and Jack Chippewas. And if last play-offs in which the Appalachians edged out the Royals, 2-1, indication of what to expect season, then the battle for championship could be a open race."
Each club in the league play four more games this season — making a total of 19 games. Eighteen of these are conference games with one game played outside the schedule one of the Colt teams in the range County area. There will be eight scheduled night games La Palma stadium, starting on 5 and continuing eight consecutive Tuesday nights. There will be double-headers on these thus giving a total of 16 games under the lights.
Commenting on tournament play, Fitch said, "There is no possibility that we may get the state finals for a post-trip to the Colt World Series offs. But like our Pony organization," he said, "Finances will be our deciding factor in my trip to Pennsylvania." The no decision to be made at this but, in the event we get good port from those concerned with Pony-Colt, I don't see why can't call a special meeting the board of directors and pro-tournament play and the W Series."
Fitch also stated that Chad Caldwell who will be playing agent for the Colt program also share the same duties with the Pony League.

The announcement is a letter signed by Kenneth B. Babcock, M.D., director of the Commission, read in part, "The Board of Commissioners of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals has approved the recommendation that Martin Luther Hospital be accredited for a period of three years or until a subsequent survey is conducted. This is the result of the evaluation of the hospital survey conducted on Jan. 23, 1962 by William B. Talbot, M.D., a field representative of the Commission... The Commission wishes to commend you for maintaining standards deserving of accreditation and for your constant effort to improve the quality of patient care."
Pastor Stief stated, "We are very gratified to learn of this honor. We are especially pleased because we understand that approximately 60 per cent of the hospitals in the county are accredited. It is considered particularly significant to receive the maximum award on a first inspection.
