Orange Spotlight ... Annexation
(Continued from Page One)
on plenies, Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, and other well-known sites about the county where the kiddies can accompany their parents.
Perhaps he forgets that, once in a while, mom and dad like to get away from the youngsters and recapture some of the gayer, lighter moments of life. For many, the nightclubs serve this need.
The very presence of the nightclubs, along with Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, Irvine Park and other so-called 'family - entertainment' havens is what has made Orange County recognized as one of the top recreation and entertainment areas in the country.
For anything to be truly great, there must be variety. One or two things, no matter how wonderful and complete they might be in themselves, soon pales and becomes monotonous.
In what other area in the country can one find spots like Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm and Ghost Town, Newport Dunes, historical sights such as San Juan Capistrano; Los Alamitos race track; fine nightclubs in Anaheim, Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, and elsewhere; an art center, such as Laguna Beach, first class motels, easy and quick transportation to one of the world's largest cities, Los Angeles; two of the country's top racetracks, Hollywood Park and Santa Anita; one of the top water wonders of the U.S., Marineland, skiing in nearby mountains, and camping in easily accessible wilderness?
No. I feel that man really ought to reevaluate his judgement on the future of the county's nightclubs. They are integral parts of the whole bright picture of Orange County.

The importance of the area slightly less than 1:27th the size of Anaheim, centers on the fact that it acts as a natural plug to the one part of the city which large expansion is still possible.
While Placentia does not want to annex the entire portion Anaheim lays claim to, she does test right to annex a narrow strip running along Jefferson until reaches the Santa Ana and then along the river, finally turning north toward Yorba Linda and widening out. The strip fences...

Annexation Decision Awaits Judge . . .

known as the northeast annexation area no. 2.
The importance of the area, not less than 1:27th the size of Anaheim, centers on the fact it acts as a natural plug in one part of the city where the expansion is still possible.
While Placentia does not want annex the entire portion Ana-lays claim to, she does con- right to annex a narrow strip along Jefferson until it meets the Santa Ana and then the river, finally turning toward Yorba Linda and running out. The strip fences off Anaheim from the rest.
The case is now before judge Tamura, but a grace period of 15 days exists, should either side wish to file additional points, and an additional five days is granted for each side to answer the points the other might file during the period.
Assistant city attorney Joe Geisler said he felt very optimistic over the city's chances of winning the decision.
"I could be more enthusiastic," he said. "But I will simply say our chances look favorable."
Actual annexation, depending on Judge Tamura's final decision, might still be delayed for some time, however, even if Anaheim should win.
Geisler said there is a strong possibility Placentia will appeal any decision going against it, holding up final clearance of the case even longer.
