Kuchel Gets 3 New Posts
In a reorganization of the important Senate Appropriation Subcommittee to expedite handling of annual money bills, U. S. Senator Thomas H. Kuchel of Anaheim has been given three new assignments.
The California lawmaker, who is assistant Republican leader now serves on the subcommittee on deficiencies and supplemental independent offices, interior department-forest service, legislative, military construction, a new treasury-post office-executive or five supply measures.
Kuchel will be the ranking minority member on the military construction panel, which handles fund requests for the large number of defense installations in California and thus occupies strategic position to push several projects in which he is deeply interested.
Among these are a new Naval hospital at Long Beach, a consolidated Armed Services hospital in March AFB near Riverside, and the Army Language School at Monterey.
