The wide range of choices Chevrolet dealers will offer for 1962 is hinted in this three-car photograph. News About Our Service Men
Serving aboard the attack aircraft carrier USS Forrestal operating out of Norfolk, Va., is Herbert A. Jaekson, aviation electronics technician airman, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Jackson of 805 S. Verona St., Anaheim.
The carrier recently completed a seven-month cruise in the Mediterranean, during which ports in Greece, France, Cyprus and Lebanon were visited.
Army PFC Robert C. Holman, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. George T. Holman, 7865 San Rafael Dr., Buena Park, recently returned to Berlin after participating with other personnel from Company B of the 3d Battle Group, 6th Infantry, in a four-week field training exercise in Wildflecken, Germany.
The 6th is unable to conduct extensive training in Berlin as large open areas are non-existent in the American sector.
Holman, a rifleman in the company, entered the Army in August 1960 and arrived overseas last January.
He is a 1959 graduate of Anaheim High School and attended Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa.

The exercise provided training under limited warfare conditions.
Hall is assigned to Company E of the division's 501st Infantry, which is regularly located at Fort Bragg, N.C. He entered the Army in August 1960 and completed basic training at Fort Ord.
Richard E. Herzog, son of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Herzog of 739 N. Resh, Anaheim, completed recruit training at the Naval Training Center, San Diego.
Military ceremonies marked the end of nine weeks of "boot camp" and included a full dress parade and review before high ranking officials and civilian dignitaries.
In nine weeks of instruction, the "raw recruit" is developed into a Navy Bluejacket, ready for duty with the fleet.

Names of 52 students at Orange County State College who achieved a 3.5 grade point average or above during the spring semester were released recently by Dean of Students Ernest A. Becker.

During the 15-week course Private Danner was trained to operate and assist in the maintenance and installation of long-range radio equipment.
The Signal School annually trains some 10,000 students in over 50 specialized courses in the fields of radio, wire, radar and photography.
Private Danner entered the Women's Army Corps last March.
She is a 1960 graduate of Fullerton Union High School and attended Fullerton Junior College.
Attending Pre-commissioning School at the Fleet Training Center, Norfolk, Va., is Michael Ulrich, dental technician third class, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Ulrich of 206 E. Alberta St., Anaheim.
Upon completion of the school the class will report aboard the world's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, the USS Enterprise, which is in final stages of construction at Newport News, Va.

23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert P. Nielsen, 2172 W. Monroe Ave., Anaheim, is one of more than 1,700 troops recently assigned to the battle famed 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan., is in its current build-up to combat strength.
Noted for its combat record in both World Wars, the "Big Red One" division has been relieved, of its training mission and designated as a Strategic Army Force unit in the recent Army augmentation program. The division is now being armed, equipped and trained to be combat ready for deployment in the event of limited or general warfare anywhere in the world.
Nielsen entered the Army last June and is a member of Company D of the division's 28th Infantry.

Undergoing plebe summer training with midshipmen in the class of 1965 at the Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., is Midshipman Robert A. Stanfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Stanfield of 922 Agate St., Anaheim.
The class, which was sworn in June 28, is receiving the training in preparation for entering the academy's Brigade of Midshipmen in the fall.
The two-month military indoctrination includes marching, correct wearing of the Navy uniform, Navy terminology and some academic work.

The Thomas participated in a "fleet sail" when it joined 20 other First Fleet ships departing for Hawaii to relieve sister vessels now operating in the Far East with the Seventh Fleet.
The two fleets are responsible for maintaining safety of Free World trade routes which criss-cross the 85-million-square-mile Pacific area; the First Fleet in the eastern and mid-Pacific and the Seventh Fleet in the western Pacific.

Child Adopted
Julie Stephens is the first child placed for adoption in Orange County by the Holy Family Adoption Service, but she is the 1,498th child placed by this non-sectarian private adoption agency since it was licensed by the California State Department of Social Welfare in July, 1950.
Admissions Open
Admission applications are still being accepted by Orange County State College, Fullerton, from students possessing a bachelor's degree and planning to take six units or less in the fall semester. Some 500 such applications are expected during the next three weeks, according to Emmett T. Long, associate dean of students in charge of admissions and records.
