Lutherans to Have 'Rally Day' Sunday Anaheim's newest Lutheran Church will celebrate a festive "Rally Day" service this Sunday, Sept. 17, at 9 a.m. when members and friends of Lamb of God Lutheran Church begin a new year of study of God's Word in Bible classes and Sunday school, the Rev. Fred D. Dommer, pastor, has announced. "The importance of studying God's Word in our time cannot be over-emphasized," Pastor Dommer states in speaking of the Christ-centered program of study which the congregation's Board of Parish Education has outlined for the new year. Classes are planned for all ages including Bible classes for junior high, senior high and adults. Pre-school children may be enrolled at age 3. All activities and study are closely graded to fit each age and grade level. Last Sunday the congregation held its first service in its new building located at the corner of South and Sunkist streets in the beautiful east Anaheim area. Almost a year ago Pastor Dommer arrived in Anaheim to begin a new Lutheran congregation under the sponsorship of The American Lutheran Church. The congregation was formally organized on Dec. 15, 1960, with the purchase of land and the new building soon under way. A 4½-acre site at 14431 E. South St. was purchased from the Fred Kahler family. This property is now being developed for immediate needs and with plans for future expansion. Through the months in which construction of the new church building was underway the Hughes Aircraft Employees congregation has worshipped at Recreation Center at Acacia and Rosslynn, Fullerton, and has received an outstanding response from residents of the east Anaheim area.
